As soon as we pulled up the Red’s we could see the line that formed a little bit down the block. However, the wait wasn’t too long and we were able to order right away. We ordered two lobster rolls, fried shrimp, and fried scallops. The lobster rolls came overloaded with lobster and the seafood was incredible fresh; you could taste it as soon as you bit into it. The real winners here were the fried shrimp and scallops for me. Outstanding food and seating available by the water. jennifshin.com

Once was enough. Decided to hit Reds to see what all they hype was about when traveling back to Portland from Bar Harbor. Hot sunny summer day and waited in line over an hour. They were nice enough to provide sunbrellas to the people in line and cups of water. They have the worst order filling system ever. They fill them a few at a time. Take a few orders, fill them, take a couple more, fill those. How about taking orders and have other staff fill them and keep the line moving? Got the feeling like they don’t care as they’re making about $60 every five minutes. Ordered a lobster roll ($17) and side of fried scallops. Another 20 mins waiting for the order to be filled. Lobster roll was just that, a roll with plain cold lobster meat in it. I can get that anywhere. The scallops were ridiculously overcooked and way over breaded and a couple of the scallops fell out of its batter ball and was fried to death unprotected. I can do better at home. Check this one off my bucket list and moving on!

Amazing !. The best lobster I’ve had in my life.

We got to Red’s Eats a little before noon today. We waited in line maybe 15 minutes. We ordered lobster rolls and fries. Had our food in less than 10 minutes. We have had plenty of lobster rolls on this trip, but never one with so much meat on it! For $16.99, it cost less than a few of the rolls we had plus it had lots more meat. The lobster is served chilled and plain on a toasted bun with a cup of warm butter. That’s how I like it! It was wonderful!

Lobster may be good, but nothing else was!. We can’t eat lobster, so we tried the scallops and clams, mushrooms and onion rings. What a greasy mess for $40….yes Forty Dollars. Ridiculous prices, long wait for nothing and so much batter on everything, I had to pick it off. portions very small except for the mushrooms. 6 onion rings and 6 scallops. Clams were 18.00……Don’t waste your time or money!

Over rated, just a tourist trap. Check out the place across the street. Get’s its lobster meat from the same vendor as Red’s and there are no long lines. My friend waited in line for almost and hour at Red’s Eats while I was served across the street in fifteen minutes.

Not worth it!. This place isn’t worth it. Is busy because of the name it has but honestly not the best lobster and very expensive. If you want better lobster the place across the road is even better! Red’s eats is no good.
