Absolutely fantastic place. Quaint, good atmosphere, and nice spot. The food was great and majority was all organic. This particular day the owner came out of the kitchen and said hello. She was very nice and seemed to care a great deal about her place and cooking. Highly recommend this place.
AS GOOD AS PROMISED. Based upon the good reviews we tried it as an adult party of four. Small but very tasteful inside. Service was pleasant, informed and attentive. Two had the scallop dinner salad special, one the finnan haddie and one Annette’s meatloaf. Everyone was very happy and satisfied with the preparation, taste and quantity of their meal. We would go again and recommend it to friends. Dinner for 4 with two glasses of wine and an ale was $125 with the tip (20%).
Savory Maine is Unique!. This is one of our favorite restaurants in Damariscotta – or anywhere. Everything served is fresh, organic, and local and exquisitely prepared. For breakfast, we especially like the quiche with shrimp, asparagus, spinach, fiddleheads, or whatever is in season, as well as the whole grain pancakes and excellent sausage, not to mention THE best coffee! Salads are wonderful, too, and homemade soups and chowders. We all agreed that the seafood chowder with scallops and a touch of Maine smoked mussels was the best we’d ever had. A meal at this restaurant will leave you feeling healthy and happy!
Savory, local, organic and delicious in Damariscotta, Maine. Grace has done an amazing job of renovating this lovely church on Water Street in downtown Damariscotta, Maine. We have been to Savory Maine three times now. Once for brunch, once for lunch and once for dinner. Each time the service we prompt and friendly and the food delicious homemade local fare. This restaurant maintains 99% organic food and 90% local food, even in the middle of a Maine winter. It IS possible to do. And this is what we ALL should be doing. The ambiance of Savory Maine is cozy, beautiful and inviting. Sun streams through the windows during the day making for a relaxing space to eat, sip coffee, and hang out with friends and loved ones. The artwork of local painters hang temptingly on the walls. My favorites so far are the home made biscuits and bread, the meatball soup with home made noodles, the local spinach, bacon and egg salad and the locally roasted coffee (Matt’s). Also very yummy was the gluten free cranberry chocolate chip cookie!Friends had the gnocchi, meatloaf, quiche and vegan options and were very pleased as well.Spread the word. This is the place to go in mid coast Maine.
This is a really good restaurant. Lovely staff and tasty organic meals are the big attraction. This is off the beaten path but well worth it. They display art from local artists who are very talented. I suggest you come in for a meal and to buy some beautiful art.
