Great food, worthwhile wait!. My family and I have a policy when we’re on the road that we do not eat at chain restaurants, and it has been one of the best ideas we’ve ever had. It means going on line and seeking out a spot to eat, which is exactly how we found Woodman’s. I was actually searching in Bangor, but found Woodman’s and couldn’t resist. We arrived right at supper time on a Saturday and every table and bar stool was full. There were a few groups ahead of us and were told a 30 minute wait, which we had expected based on previous reviews. The bartender/owner came around and took our drink order after we sampled a couple of the local beers. The menu was original (I hope rainbow trout will be on the board next time I come!) but we were all there for a burger and we were not disappointed! The fries were piping hot and the burgers loaded with fresh toppings and a great smoky flavour. Thanks, Abe, we will see you on our next trip through Maine!!
Favorite place for date night. Me and my boyfriend have never had a problem getting a table and if there is a wait it has only been for about ten minutes. The food is always wonderful and the drinks are always made perfectly. The staff is right on the ball as well. They are a place that really knows what they are doing. Always great food, great atmosphere, and great staff. Would recommend this place to anyone!
When we arrived on a week night it was busy and there wasnt a table to accommodate two adults and 3 kids. we had to wait for a while. no chairs or comfortable area, we just had to stand next to the pool tables and bathroom. once we were seated the server was very nice and attentative. however there must have been a mix up in the kitchen because our food took a very long time to come out. tables that were seated after us received their food first. we will come back, because the food was good and the server super friendly. hopefully it was a one time fluke.
Home away from home!. It is indeed a home away from home…only the family is larger and the beer selection greater! It’s the perfect place for a late afternoon brew and crossword puzzle…and you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu! I do, however, find myself drawn most often to the fabulous steaks and burgers!

Saddle up for a half pound of deliciousness, topped with cheddar cheese, zesty chipotle BBQ sauce, and crispy onion rings to top it all off. Feeling zesty yourself? Try the one pounder. It comes with the obvious choice of fries or onion rings but, I would go for the unsung hero of sides, the baked potato. It’s basically the holy grail of sides. You can get fries or o-rings anywhere, but when was the last time you had a baked potato? Answer: last time you ate a Woodman’s Burger. It is the perfect compliment to a Woodman’s Burger, so just get the baked potato.
Fantastic place. Woodman’s Bar and Grill is one of the most highly rated establishments in the greater Bangor area, and for good reasons. The food is excellent, the cocktails and other beverages are excellent, and the people who work there are both friendly and efficient. Regular live music later in the evening, and the pool table, make for added fun. I hear they are introducing a new menu this month with some awesome new food and beverage options. I very highly recommend Woodman’s. Been going there for years and have always had a great experience!
