Weird experience there last week. The place was dead but the few patrons were crammed into the tiny 2-tops in the drafty section near the front door. The bartender/server botched our drink order and then obscenely overcharged for the drinks – itemized each component of a mixed drink and charged as if each component was a discrete cocktail – TWICE!!! Food look great on the menu but tasted average at best. Dogfish used to be a reliably decent restaurant.

I stopped in for the first time for some carry out, but instantly felt inclined to stay. The staff was friendly and welcoming, the atmosphere cozy, and there were the most amazing smells wafting from the kitchen. They had great beers on tap, including a couple unusual selections. The turkey Cali club suggested by Michael, the bartender, is the perfect comfort sandwich. I’d return to this little gem anytime.
All I can say is…awesome service, awesome food…awsome place. Looking at it from the outside you would probably not expect this diamond in the rough. If you are in Portland Maine put this restaurant on your list.
Always Good. My husband and I eat at Dogfish Cafe whenever we are in town visiting our parents. We love the food and have never had a bad experience there! It sounds silly, but the homemade pickles are definitely the best I’ve ever had..anywhere! My husband always gets the daily special and has never been disappointed…
