I can’t believe this place has such good reviews? ? The fried clams were chewy and appeared to be microwaves the coleslaw tasted tinny and the tarter sauce had a yellow tint to it I wouldn’t. Recomend this place to anyone
Good Inexpensive Seafood.. When we have a hankering for good fried seafood or a lobster roll and do not want to deal with the throngs of people in the old port area we go to Benny’s. Like the haddock sandwich and Lob roll. Open seasonal.
Seafood – fried, good and cheap!. A favorite of locals in South Portland, a few miles out Commercial Street from the tourist area.The best is their version of the fried full bellied clam. Benny’s does it with a thin paper-like batter that is unique and, I think, the best. Just excellent!no indoor seating, just tables on outside deck with umbrellas. Fence on deck keeps much of the breeze out.Benny’s is open seasonally, and closed on bad weather days. Call in advance if not sure!
