Yum…that’s all I have to say…plus this (lol)…the Lobster Benny was amazing…the portions were of (well) epic proportions, the brunchy capital cocktails were amazing and the scallion-cheddar-bacon pancakes with bourbon syrup were the proverbial cherry on top! Everyone says it’s packed on the weekends but we came in on a weekday and were seated within minutes of our arrival! However, I think if we had had to wait, it would’ve been well worth it!

Pleasant and charming ambiance.Very friendly staff.Interesting selection of breakfast options.Ours was generally tasty (very yummy blueberry pancake) but I must mention the disappointing home fries which were almost universally undercooked and crunchy – very difficult to eat. Such a frustrating element to the breakfast that would make me think twice about returning.

I had the lobster benedict and it was the best food I had ever had. Couldn’t stop telling everyone when I talked about my Maine vacation how good my food was at American Cafe.

Yes, there will probably be a line. But it will be well worth it. The homemade corned beef hash was a giant plate of homestyle comfort, and the lobster benedict had plump pieces of sweet Maine lobstah. And why not order a side of bacon, too? Plus a couple of glasses of bellinis and mimosas. Oh yes. confessionsofachocoholic.com

Very good! The portions are huge and delicious. The atmosphere is very laid back. We did have a bit of a wait. There isn’t much waiting area.

Went looking for brunch and had a 45 minute wait. Normally this is bad but by offering coffee and mimosas it made the long wait a bit more bearable! Lobster eggs Benedict and crabcake eggs Benedict were great! The cinnamon bun pancake is worth the wait! This is a must try for brunch/breakfast!

Very slow service & small. Staff couldn’t keep up with crowd. There’s nowhere to sit and wait, while waiting for a table. Food was decent, but not hot enough and not worth the wait. Overpriced.
