Cutting corners. This used to be my go-to place for breakfast but this morning, the three of us got our breakfast with day-old homefries. They were obviously day old. Dried out, cold. Someone tried to pass them off as fresh, and in my opinion, that’s an abomination. At $36 + tip for 3 breakfasts and coffee, those homefries better be jump-off-my-plate-and-bite-me fresh. Shame on the chef for cutting corners with am item like potatoes. The fresh batch went on the grill just as we were leaving. Now I’m not going there again. Hope it was worth it!
Mediocre food coupled with neglectful service and unaccomidating menu restrictions. Waitress and other staff members were not personable at all and not attentive. First dinning room was very cold and the second room with a fireplace was nearly empty and was never offered.
Very tasty homemade corned beef hash
Great food, excellent portions, super coffee. We’ll be going back.
Favorite breakfast place. Tucked away near USM on Forest it may not be on most people’s radar, but after trying several breakfast hotspots, i have to give this place my top honors. Huge servings, friendly staff, great French Roast coffee, and some interesting menu options, all at decent prices and in a nice cozy dining room. I recommend the hungry man meal, or whatever it’s called (I call it the Ron Swanson). Ham, eggs, home fries, and 2 massive pancakes (fork up the 50 cents for blueberries or chocolate chip, well worth it). It’s impossible to finish, but that’s never stopped me from trying. The chili omelet and Cheese Dream are also great meals, and they have the best toast!
10:30 on a Sunday. We waited 10 minutes, staff were friendly. The food is nothing to recommend. Our grilled blueberry muffin was clearly from a mix, I find this damnable for a caf in Maine. Omlettes were generous but uninteresting. No fruit or fresh optioned to choose from, only fried, grilled or baked. Coffee was not bad. Full of 25 year olds, perhaps they don’t mind the dirty tables.
Solid selection of all the breakfast favs with prices that suit the college student budget and tastes that satisfy your inner foodie.
