After waiting 15 minutes and no one even taking a drink order we walked out. Not that busy, I’ve waited on more tables by myself than they have in the place. Not worth the wait from the reviews..
Great, casual choice!. My boyfriend and I went to Dry Dock Restaurant Tavern during a spontaneous trip to Old Port. We were able to sit outside on the lower deck and while I was sad to not be sitting on the upper deck, the flowers and greenery surrounding the tables were beautiful. We started with basket of beer battered onion rings. They were great, not too greasy or salty- just perfectly thin and crisp. For my meal I got the veggie burger of the day. The pattie itself was rice based and deliciously char-broiled. On top of the burger offered that day was mushrooms, swiss cheese, and caramelized onions, all of which I got. In addition their standard toppings were lettuce, tomato, onion, and sprouts! I was so happy to see sprouts as a basic option! The burger was great, and I was pleased to have fries as my side with a surprise slice of melon. Our server was friendly, attentive, and timely. Overall, we had a great experience at Dry Dock Restaurant Tavern.
Love the clam chowder. One of the best I have had. The fried haddock sandwich is also a very large portion and cooked perfectly. The lobster roll is reasonable priced and done well.
Great food. Nice ambience. Friendly staff.
Down the Tubes. I have been to the Dry Dock to eat many of times over the last 10+ years. Something has changed recently, new owners, horrible wait staff, change in the food? The wait staff doesnt ask you what you want for sides, they ASSUME you want french fries and they try to run off before you can ask them if they offer anything for sides besides french fries. My food was far from what I remember it being back in the day so I will not go back. There are to many GOOD places to eat in the Old Port to go back to a place that doesnt seem to care anymore.Oh and if you love to sit on the deck, use your head and sit upstairs. All the little cracks in the decking lets foot spooge fall through to the unsuspecting guests plates below.. NASTY
Don’t be fooled by the smell…watery clam chowder, extremely oily potato skins… Out of the can chili… And blueberry pop? Not something I would recommend.
