We found everything to be OK, but nothing special. The place was not busy, but service was slow. Our waitress brought (and charged us) for a double order of the soup dumplings, which seemed freshly made, but were on the dry side, an the dipping sauce not nearly as imaginative as Empire. The si mui (shu mai?) were large and meaty but on the doughy side. The spicy beef lo mein noodles were just a bit over done, though the flavors were decent (spicy? not so much). Bacon fried rice was again not as good as Empire and the bill certainly wasn’t far off from the trendier place up the street. With so much great food in Portland, I’d pass on this place.
