I had the Lobster Stew and Lobster Roll. Both were delicious and loaded with lobster. Our server Amy was great and really made our experience wonderful. Only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is the Bloody Mary. It was just ok. But hey, it’s about the seafood isn’t it?!

Service was excellent. It’s a little too cramped inside so I would recommend sitting outside. The food is also really pricey if you plan on getting something other than a sandwich. The mac n’ cheese tasted gross, but luckily our waitress was nice enough to not charge my family for it. Other than that the seafood was fresh and delicious.
About as authentic ‘old port’, Portland as you can get. Great bar and right on the water…Awesome steamed muscles in white wine followed by lobster chowder’A few Shipyards to wash it all down and it is an experience.
We were so excited to try this place and left feeling completely disappointed. We ordered the clam chowder to start and it came out piping hot. It was so hot we burnt ourselves. The soup itself was tasty but not incredible. We also later saw the waitress put other people’s soup in the microwave to heat it up, so much for the soup being fresh. We then had to wait 30 mins before the waitress came back to find out of we wanted to order a main/entree meal. We ordered the lobster roll which was good, there was a generous serving of lobster meat but the roll was just a simple toasted hot dog bun and the lobster meat was cold, it would have been a lot better if it had been warm, but not put through the microwave. Overall the place lives up to being a dive, the food is average and the service is lacking in a major way. I would not come back here and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.
A great locals place with great food! When we are in Portland, we always try to hit J’s.. Not fancy, just good! Definately try the Lobster Stew!
Was excited to checkout this local sea food dive and try some oysters. However that excitement quickly changed to disappointment. We waited a half hour before seeing our waitress, and was there for 45 minutes without being asked to have our order taken. When we were able to place order I was disappointed by the clam chowder and after being frustrated by the service left and went to a different restaurant to finish our meal. Will not be returning and would not recommend if you have anything to do at all during the day.
