Inexpensive and delicious, one of our favoites!. This is our favorite sushi place in Portland, hands down. We go here so often they have started to recognize us. The spicy crunchy tuna and caterpillar roll are my absolute go-to’s, never disappointed! The staff is always super nice and the outdoor seating area I personally really like because you can really people watch. The food is inexpensive compared to other sushi places and it’s always delicious, highly recommended!
Fresh, reasonable, friendly. King of the Roll served us up some expertly crafted fresh sushi, the waitresses and Sushi chef’s were friendly and the price was reasonable as well. No doubt a great spot to get your sushi fix.
Nice Little Spot. I like their food a lot, and the staff is always sweet. I was there with some friends for my birthday, a few months ago, and they brought a really cute fruit carving with birthday candles to our table. They had carved oranges to look like a pair of bears. And none of us had asked – they’d overheard us talking about my birthday, and just did it out of kindness. Loved it.
Friendly Service – Decent Food. Very friendly and attentive service.Responsive to the special needs of one of the people in our party. The sushi is decent and reasonably priced.Agree with other reviewers that this is a good place for a quick sushi fix. Will certainly go back again.Still looking for my top Pick in Portland, as Shima is gone….
First time customer. Family friendly. Prompt service. Very good food. Good value.
As Expected. Our meal of miso soup and four rolls for two people was just as we expected for a place claiming it has the ‘best sushi in town.’ Price to quality ratio here was on par with other mediocre sushi joints. The sushi seemed for the most part fresh enough, though the flavors were not as strong as I had hoped for. For a quick fix, its fine.
Not the greatest but not the worst. While visiting Portland over the weekend my wife and I decided to give this restaurant a try. It’s a quaint little place with a nice outdoor setting when the weather is good. The food is priced nicely but unfortunately I just didn’t find the sushi to be all that good. We got one of the specials, which was barbecued squid, and it was a little bland. Sadly, they also didn’t serve it with any kind of dipping sauce, which just left us with a plate of slightly rubbery squid and little flavor. Overall the food was middle of the road but for the price I couldn’t really complain. I can see this place being popular with the younger college kids but for me it just didn’t live up to the hype.
