Yea the hibachi tables are fun, but the actually sushi is horrible. I first went for lunch when not a soul was in there. The service was non existent despite the lack of customers. The sushi did not taste fresh. The second time I went there was with friends. We did try out the hibachi tables, which was fun but pricy for what you get. Again, gave the sushi another try, and same dissapointment. We won’t be going back again.

Was very impressed with the atmosphere and service at this restaurant. We are from out of town and had just travelled 12 hours and came in for a late dinner close to closing time. The restaurant was very accomodating and even after started closing down their sushi bar, made us more sushi. The food was awesome… Especially the Godzilla roll, American dream roll, and wonton soup. Will definitely be coming back here in the next four days while we are in town!

Went to kon for the first time tonight for habachi. Had a reservation at 730, didn’t get seated until 20 minutes later. Service was definitely sub par, and our party of 9 was all disappointed. I can honestly say we spent more time waiting before, during, and after the meal than actually eating. Portions were small and the meat was low quality. The chicken was rubbery and the steak was cheap. For the price, 20 dollars for the steak, I was very disappointed and will never go back there for habachi again, I have heard positive things about the entrees but have not tried them yet. Entertainment value of the habachi was also not there compared to other experiences.

Nothing to rave about. My husband and I went there for lunch and it was very slow. The service was horrible. We didn’t see our waitress for long periods of time, forgot chopsticks so couldn’t eat until we saw her again. When the food finally came, it wasn’t as fresh as we had hoped, and it was sloppy. We always go to YOSAKU in downtown Portland for an excellent experience every time. We shouldnt have tried kon… We have also been to evey sushi place in Portland.

Wonderful Experience. We just had our first visit and we were pleasantly surprised. The place was beautiful and had a calming atmosphere. The hostess was very friendly and accomodating…showing us around a little since we asked about the hibachi. She sat us at a table so we could watch. Our waitress Shayna was wonderful. She was extremely helpful with our questions and suggested a few things as well. We ordered the Miso Sesame Tuna and the Beef Negimaki as appetizers. Both were superb and the plate presentation was beautiful! Our entrees were Sushi Entree which was perfect for me because it came with a wide variety of sushi to try. Again the plate was beautiful. My husband ordered the Orange Ginger Duck and again…delicious. We will definately be back to the Kon Asian Bistro on Brighton Ave in Portland. Thanks so much!!
