Chain Experience. Unfortunately not above a chain restaurant experience…poor management. Servers haggling with each other, then having to see the kitchen door open and nightmares of hot headed chefs, servers, and managers. Food was fair…accidentally served something destined for another table. Huge open room, quite noisy, brightly lit during eve, til it dawned on someone. Large bar with one enormous flat screen tv…perhaps the only way to handle this venue…face the tv and imbibe.
Shrimp were terrible
Good Experience. My wife and I dropped in for lunch and were happy we did. While the place wasn’t particularly busy on a Friday afternoon, we nevertheless elected to sit at one of the high top tables in the bar area. The bar keep provided friendly and excellent service. Although somewhat pricey for lunch (e.g., $20 for a lobster roll and oysters rolling in at $2.50 per), the food was good enough to carry this burden, making it worth while. Someone had mentioned to us that this place offered good oysters and it did not dissappoint! I also recommend the horshradish bloody mary for those who enjoy such things.
Great ambience we all had the wood grilled shrimp with lemon sauce. Basmati rice and sugar snap peas all perfectly prepared.
This Should Be the Dining Standard. Now this Is what I expected to have as a dining experience in Maine! The initial service was lax due to a new hostess but the restaurant manager came over to personally apologize and our waitress was truly wonderful. The seared cod, argula salad along with the Chilean chardonay was the best meal I had during my weeks stay in Maine, including names like the Bar Harbor Inn and Natalie’s in Camden. And, not expecting but getting complementary wine and clam chowder was totally a class act, but has nothing at all to do with my rave review. I am a super-critical person and for me to be able to write a review like this is refreshing.
Kid friendly. Gluten free friendly. Prices right. Awesome service. Awesome halibut.
The jerk mahi mahi is splendiferous!
