Everything was outstanding. Had Kim chi beef and chicken ramens. Pork buns, chicken and shrimp gyosa, our sushi rolls were Maine crab and the cucumber avocado. Highly recommend all choices.

Bathroom needs work. Let me start by saying that Pai Men is one of my favorite places to go out to in Portland, cool atmosphere, great beer list, food always good, and the crack laced pork buns are incredible. On our most recent trip everything was fine, food, beer, service all good as usual. The problem I had was in the condition of the bathroom (guys in my case and I can’t speak on the condition of the gals br). The soap dispenser was broken, paper towel dispenser not working or out. I’m not sure if the kitchen staff uses this bathroom as well but if they do it’s not only a health code violation but also really digusting. They could have at least put some hand soap out if the wall mounted dispenser is broken. While I’m on it the condition of the sink is also prettty nasty, no caulking around the basin and the appearance of black mold around the rim, invest a couple hundred dollars and install a sink that doesn’t make you feel dirtier by using it. Management really needs to address these matters, really no excuse for it, dive bars have nicer bathrooms. I do hope they address this stuff because I do really enjoy going here but will not be back until they do

My evening hangout. I live a couple blocks up from Pai Men Miyake, and maybe I’m easy to please, but I find it wonderful. I’m usually there on thursday evenings after 9, and everything I have tried off the menu is flavorful and satisfying. it’s a little pricey for me, but that’s mainly because I’m a nearly broke struggler. this is your restaurant if you like pork. the smell of the pork fat is what makes me feel at home when I walk in, and it adds absolute succulence to everything it’s in. if you don’t like meaty, hearty flavors, I don’t know what to tell you; maybe there are lighter options on the menu, but I have no interest in them. the beer selection is quite nice, too, if a little pricey – once again, I’m nearly broke.a lot of these reviews are complaining about poor service; I dunno what you’re talking about. every member of the staff I’ve seen has been cheerful, friendly, and prompt. ryan, one of the chefs I usually see, is one of the hardest working dudes I’ve ever met, and generous to boot. all the bartendresses and wait staff are funny and helpful – more than willing to indulge me when I ask them to pick me a random beer for the evening. you never know what music you’re gonna hear there; sometimes it’s desert rock drone metal, sometimes you’re gonna hear beyonce, sometimes it’s big band music, sometimes it’s the doors. just depends on the mood of the staff, so if you’re willing to just go with it, you’ll have a good time. you might see the people behind the bar busting a move when it’s slow.well, I’ll see you on thursday.
