This place is almost too cute for words! All the great pottery and the way the cafe is set up makes you feel like you’re eating at a friends home. The breakfast was great! They also had a display of these AMAZING desserts! Sea salt caramel chocolate cake is EVERYTHING!

Best omelette ever!. I’ve had some excellent lunches and cakes to-die-for at this delightful cafe before. Recently my partner and I stopped in to try their breakfast. This is not your conventional two eggs sunny side up kind of diner. There aren’t many items offered specifically for breakfast but if you can tear yourself away from the tempting array of pastries and desserts and focus on what is available you’re in for a very pleasant breakfast surprise. My partner chose the frittata of the day and I, the omelette. Both came with toast and home made jam . The meals were beautifully and carefully presented. The generously sized frittata was excellent. My omelette embraced a variety of vegetables that included asparagus and artichoke. I had asked for dry toast, but after hearing the comments about the jam (peach on that day) of nearby diners I opted to try some too. Everything was scrumptious. In fact, the omelette was far and away the best I’ve ever eaten anywhere. The meal was very reasonably priced and, as a bonus, the coffee was served in beautiful pottery mugs, which only added to our enjoyment. We were not alone in our high opinion of the chef: Judging from the very positive and vocal reaction of other breakfasting diners this cafe is a real find and can be very highly recommended.

Superb eating place. The chef Manda is superb, you have no idea what gift we have here to have her around. She is the real thing, creative chef, excellent food , great presentations, tasting excellent, generous portions and so on. So far sandwiches and deserts, but she has done main dishes, once in a workshop, best meal I ever had in Maine except my house.

New Favorite. This is my new favorite spot to get a bite in Portland. I’ve had breakfast, lunch, and now dinner (!) at the cafe. I went to their date night event, which was an amazing value. The pottery was fun and the food was far beyond our expectations. The new chef is inventive and very talented. She uses fresh ingredients and is willing (and quite able) to accommodate special diets (gluten, vegan, etc.). I HIGHLY recommend the Portland Pottery Cafe.

Great. Went to the Portland Pottery Cafe this afternoon and enjoyed a great Avocado BLT. The Avocados were perfectly ripe and the bacon was great quality. I will be back to try their new spring menu.
