Went for a quickly lunch and drink after pottland’s Art fest with a friend, $16 sangria pitchers from 12-close! Great eclectic art on the walls and good food! What more could you want for lunch! ?

YUM. I don’t usually not eat gluten free, but when I do I splurge at Shay’s- Best burger I have had in a while, not to mention their sweet potato fries are delicious. Awesome service, and great cocktails!

Lunch date. Went here today with with my Grandfather for a lunch date. We both loved it! I got the Pulled Pork Sandwich and he got the Turkey Burger. We both couldn’t stop talking about how good it was while we were still eating. I am not the biggest fan of pulled pork but I got it because I was not in the mood for really anything else but I was glad that I did. The portion was so big that I had to take half of the sandwich home with me. As for my grandfather, there was not a crumb left on his plate. The waitress was great, I did not even ask for a refill but she brought one when she saw my cup getting low. We plan to go back in a few days for another lunch date!!

Awful service. The food at Shay’s is pretty good and the atmosphere is casual and fun. The service, however, is terrible. There was one woman as a waitress for the entire restaurant and bar. She ignored us for at least 30 minutes while we waited for a table, never acknowledging we were there or giving us an estimated wait time. She was incredibly rude after finally seating us, forgot about a dish we ordered, and basically talked back to us at every encounter. She was so awful I don’t think I’d go again, despite the otherwise enjoyable dining experience.

Tasty Mojitos. I have always been intimidated by the restaurants around Monument Square but Shays is definitely the casual pick out of the bunch. Their entrees are all around $8-$15 and on Thursday they have $10 specials. Reasonably priced meals, prime summer seating right on the square, the final piece of the puzzle was delicious drinks. Glancing around the other patrons, my girlfriends and I noticed everyone sipping on mason jars filled with mojito. They looked so refreshing for a warm summer evening we were forced to order two rounds. Not only were the drinks tasty but they were the perfect compliment to my cuban paninni with horseradish mustard.

Love Shay’s! They have great happy hour specials, and surprisingly tasty and sophisticated appetizers.
