Bread. Fig anise
Of course the brioches, baguettes, pastries and everything if great. But.. The Pizza here is absolutely unreal. It is an individual/smaller pizza with asiago cheese and a delicious slightly course sauce. The locals buy all that, but remember the pizza.
Right Said Bread. Like lobster in Maine, this place is a staple. Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful. If you can’t find something worth eating, I suggest you take a baguette to the eye.
Bad Day I Guess. I bought some brownies. They were dry and tasteless.
Bread…The Way It should Be. By far the best bakery on this side of the Atlantic. I’ve tried bakeries from N.Y., BOSTON, MONTREAL and QUEBEC CITY and this is better than most. And I am not talking about pastries. Those are excellent, similar, maybe a notch lower to the french pastries you can buy in MONTREAL. The bread, though is better than anything I’ve tried. French Baguette is to die for, crusty, crunchy, airy, like in Paris. And then Pain Au Levain. GREAT, GREAT sourdough.
Brioche. I just ate about three quarters of a loaf of brioche – just too good. Sorry, no French toast for breakfast!Love the rustic simplicity of their breads and pastries. Wonderful to see anadama and Maine grain breads on the menu. What a value too – locally harvested and processed grains, hand formed by artisans for 4.75 a loaf.
Great Baguettes!. And the financiers are pretty darn good too. My favorite Sunday morning stop 🙂
