Street and Company’s lobster Diavolo is decadent. Starve yourself for a few days as their food is extraordinary. You’ll appreciate the ambiance at this venue as well as the excellent service they provide. Keep in mind you’ll wait for a lengthy period of time on the weekends and the menu prices are quite high. if money is not an issue nor time then these issues are moot. This restaurant is upscale so plan accordingly.
Street is everything you want a restaurant to be. We came on an artwalk night where Portland was hopping. We were warned that the table would be held for 15 minutes and we were not late. The service was attentive and responsive. The wine selection is especially good with low mark ups and a nice variety. Kudos on that as it encourages diners to enjoy a bottle of wine with their meal. We (there were 4) each had different entrees and shared bites. I found the food to be excellently prepared, attractively presented and responsibly procured. Combinations of ingredients were skillful and interesting on the palate. The ambience is fairly loud but we had a back table and could have regular conversation. The kitchen is visible to the restaurant adding a pleasant hustle and smell. Highly recommended for friends and family. theglobetrotterfoodie.wordpress.com
This place is TOTALLY worth it! I recommend that you make a reservation a few days before your trip because they fill up really quickly. It was easy to find and on a really neat street in Portland. (Lots of cute places to go after right near by!) The atmosphere of Street and Co is unique. You can see the dishes being prepared fresh and there is garlic, onions, shallots ect. hanging all around the restaurant. Everything we tried here was fresh and incredible! Some of the BEST food I’ve ever had. I only wish we had time to go back!!
Great food, ambiance and service! We walked into the restaurant with no reservation and was accomodated at the oyster bar which turned to be great as we interacted with the welcoming staff working at the bar!!! Loved the experience!
Interesting menu, marvelous meal. Had the cured duck tasting, arugula salad and scallops in Pernod and cream, all delicious and well presented. My partner practically swooned over the mussel appetizer. Service was friendly and attentive. Sole complaint – ditch the rickety outside chairs for something a little sturdier! But certainly looking forward to coming back.
Not sure why I continue to go here. Visitors from out of town hear about it and want to go. Why? The hostess is not overly nice. The bar staff is clueless. The penquid oysters were the worst I have ever had. The staff acts as if you should be privileged to eat at their restaurant and the normally reliable lobster diavolo was nowhere near up to par, pretty bland.
Great service, food, and atmosphere. Lobster bread pudding was delightfully yummy, and the scallops in pinod w mushrooms and the blackened halibut were very good. Our server was very attentive and personable. I’d go back!
