Ate there once. Looks like nothing from the outside, but often the good restaurants do not present well from the street. Food was good. Need to go back.
Noodles etc were fresh.Spiced right, but I suspect that the chicken in my pad Thai was from a can.
Authentic reasonably priced and super tasty Vietnamese food. Lucky to have it in Maine . Extremely friendly staff as well! Travel here once a week from Brunswick.
Pho Fail. So, I usually don’t re-review, as I’ve already determined if I like a place or not, but I had to add this new experience. My husband and I have been visiting TT2 since we moved to Maine, driving down from Auburn every few weeks for pho for the past 12 months. We went today and had quite a different experience. Our server was new–not the usual two women that we normally see–and he didn’t know the menu, which is fine and we understand. My husband was eating his pho when he made a comment about how his brisket tasted awful. He pulled the piece from his soup, and I decided to try it. I couldn’t. The whiff I got of the meat was enough to make me want to vomit. The meat was rancid, I kid you not. You know, you remember that smell of burger that sat in the fridge for weeks past its date. Hubby tried another piece of meat. Same thing. Mine was fine in my bowl of pho, though I noticed that his was a dark grayish brown and somewhat slimy. He picked out every single piece of meat, deciding to eat the pho meatless. He eventually gave up, his soup tasting like the the spoiled meat. The smell of the pile of brisket on the plate was enough to turn my stomach, so I gave him my soup. Our server never returned to see how our meal was, and when he did, he quickly gave us the bill and scooted off to his bowl of pho. I’m not sure how he missed the large bowl of cold pho and a pile of foul smelling beef on the plate that was sitting at the end of the table–but he had. It was the first day my husband and I had off of work together for nearly months, and we were both too exhausted to actively pursue reimbursement of $10, though I do regret not pointing this out to the server/staff, as it may likely make another person ill (and potentially my husband, so we’ll see…). This wasn’t the first time we’ve had poor service here, but it was the first time we’ve had a meal experience like this, and I wanted to share. I’ve attached a picture, though the meat doesn’t look half as bad as it smelled/tasted.22 Jun, 2011Pleasantly Surprised. Stopped by this little place on a whim, and were promptly seated and beverage orders taken. FYI, it’s not on the menu, but they will put the tapioca pearls in your drink for a small extra fee (i.e. bubble tea). The thai iced tea was good, and I enjoyed the fresh spring rolls with ground peanut sauce. The best part was the pho. I had the Chin Nam (I wanted beef, but I wasn’t too hungry) in a medium bowl and it was delicious. A medium was actually too much for me, but I can’t complain–if I only wanted pho, I could have a good, filling meal for less than $10. The service was prompt (from order to pho, it was about 5 minutes, tops), the server attentive, and I would recommend giving this place a try. It’s good food, but don’t expect an epiphany. Just expect deliciousness and you’ll be happy 🙂
Great Pho!. I had the Pho for lunch. It was excellent! Can’t wait to try some other items.
YUM!. Their pho is awesome!! It’s my go to place when I’m craving my moms pho – she lives 3 hrs away!
Young coconut drinks!. I never tried this place until recently even though I’m blocks away from it! I was pleasantly surprised by how nice it was inside and by the quality of the food. I’m also a sucker for young coconut and loved that they almost always have it here. My dining companions and I will certainly frequent here more often!
