The doughnuts… These are the best. Every time I walk out of this place I feel like I just robbed the bank. .95 for the best doughnut in town… Seriously why would anyone go to dunkin and pay 1.50 for a stale, small pos. hit up the cookie jar and bounce out of there a winner.
The Cookie Jar has delicious cakes, cookies, and other treats. They even have vegan friendly desserts. Every time I go I get a cannoli. Their filling is the smoothest ricotta that is the perfect amount of sweet and rich. If you’re in the area, definitely go visit.
Donut nirvana. Not much to say, can’t talk….eating. This place is a DESTINATION. When I come to Cape Elizabeth, this place draws me in like an electromagnet and I’m Iron Man. If you like authentic cake donuts, this is Mt. Olympus. Really, I haven’t tasted a single thing not delicious here. Everything is good. The donuts, the bread, the cookies, the donuts, the muffins, the donuts. Did I say how good the donuts were? 5 stars Cookie Jar, keep up the good work.
The Gold Standard. When the Cookie Jar reopened it was all my prayers had been answered. I never would have thought it could have gotten better but it has. They have awesome seasonal donuts like EggNogg and pumpkin that are out of this world. I dare anyone to find a better donut than their chocolate coconut. At 47 yo I remember the Cookie Har when i was a boy who lived in the neighborhood. I remember thinking the baked goods were the biggest and the best in the world AND THEY STILL ARE !!!!!
Surprise. I’m a diehard Scratch fan. While going to SMCC last Spring I used to walk there 2-3 times a week and never had a bad experience. I decided to stop by this place before class because I’d seen it once while driving. A pleasant surprise. I just got a small coffee and a Boston creme doughnut. The coffee was fresh Coffee By Design, so that’s always nice. The Boston Creme was massive and tasted fresh and flavorful, not like those mass produced fast food ones at all. Chocolate glaze really tasted like chocolate and the filling was rich and actually tasted like vanilla, not some sugary goo. Staff seemed nice and prices were reasonable. Plan to go back tomorrow to get donuts to surprise the girlfriend.
This place rules!!. We stumbled upon the Cookie Jar when driving to Fort Williams Park. We’ve returned many times since. We’ve had a variety of donuts, pastries and cookies here and every single thing we’ve tried has been delectable. This place is a sugar lover’s heaven!!
We were on our way to the lighthouse at Cape Elizabeth and happened upon The Cookie Jar! What an awesome thing, it is by far one of the best bakeries I have encountered in my trips to Maine..I used to live near New Orleans, La and now live in North Al. So a good bakery is one of the things I miss the most. The Cookie Jar is wonderful and high quality and the staff was very friendly and helpful. and it was next to the Firestation…so we know they are smart too!!!!
