Great quaint sushi place. Visiting DC for my birthday, my best friend knew i liked sushi and heard wonderful stories about this place and drove me all the way out to annapolis to grab dinner. we were seated promptly, and had drinks in no time. my sapporo was perfect temp. the seating was a tad cramped, but it is a small place, and it did add a little extra volume to the whole room as a result. was a little more difficult at times, but you could still have a conversation. the sushi menu was very diverse and my sashimi came very well prepared and the rolls tasty, but a tad bland looking (if you care about the art side of sushi). prly in my top 10 in sushi places ever which is saying something, but prly between 6-10… id go again!

JOSS HATES KIDS. i had heard good things about joss and was anxious to try it. i went mid afternoon on a saturday with my husband, my parents and my two year old daughter. Since they werent busy, there were empty tables outside and in the main room where you entered. But we werent seated there. As if we had the plague, we were promptly and rudely informed that they did not have high chairs or booster seats and they immediately escorted us to the LAST table in EMPTY BACK room right next to the bathroom and a waiter’s station. It was so clear that they hate kids, didnt care whether we had a bad experience or if they kept our business. i said why dont you just seat us IN the bathroom? i also said that i refused to be treated this way and that we were leaving. They didnt apologize or seem to care. And believe me it was clear that we were insulted. I WILL TELL EVERYONE I KNOW NOT TO GO THERE. And p.s. my daughter is very well behaved and was quietly sitting in her stroller not bothering anyone.

Pretty good. IF you go to Joss you must try the grilled squid it is the best. It is a very different dish, something you would not think you order but you will not regret it I promise, it makes a great appitizer to share before you get your sushi!
