I was not familiar with Lewnes. They are parked next to Ruth’s Chris, one of my favorite steakhouses. But my wife and I wanted to try something new to us. What a gem. Our server, Sean, was nothing short of the perfect guy. His recommendations and politeness made our meal even more memorable. Make certain when you go that you request the back room, as compared to the front room where the bar and bathrooms are. That had become very busy as we noticed when we left. The martini’s and cosmopolitans were outstanding. Surprisingly, the drinks came with a craft which filled our glasses a second time. The oysters rockefeller and jumbo crab balls as appetizers were a super choice. The wedge salad, which is not on their menu, is still an offering and a very good one. My wife enjoyed the greek salad which she assured me was outstanding. Then the 18 ounce NY strip and petit filet mignon arrived with creamed spinach and onion rings. Our meals could not have been more pleasurable. Their portions were large. We chose not to have dessert but settled with coffee instead. It was an anniversary meal which they knew ahead of time, and they surprised us with a complementary small bottle of champagne waiting at our table when we arrived, and a complementary brownie a la mode with our coffee. Our overall experience was very positive. For a true celebratory evening, put this one on your places to go. I was a bit hesitant after reading other reviews, but no more. You should and will definitely enjoy this place.
Traditional Steakhouse. If you lke quality meats, a reasonable wine list and an old-time steakhouse feel, this is the place for you! Expect to spend up to a $100 a person (with drinks), which for some is a lot, but to us it was well worth it. Definitely get the creamed spinach ( all sides are sized to share) with the nutmeg seasoning.
Horrible. Very expensive and poor value for your money. All dishes are a la carte and overpriced. Almost a $200 meal for three of us and I left still hungry. Lamb chops and steaks were all undercooked. Dark and gloomy atmosphere. I feel that we were ripped off and will never go back again.
Had a bad experience at Lewnes Steakhouse last night. Very poor service from a waitress named Katie, who served us three cold steaks, and a salad with 3 grilled shrimp on it that was tasty but overpriced at $22. Our waitress didn’t return to the table to ask us how are meal was going. We were sat upstairs at a booth right next to the kitchen. It was our friends birthday and should have been a special night. Instead we received poor service, overpriced and cold, bland food. I love to support local business in Annapolis, but we will not be returning to this one.
Outstanding. What a fabulous place. First class steakhouse, simple dishes expertly prepared. Steaks, sides were just perfect. if you are headed to Ruth’s Chris, go here instead! It is expensive by standards here, but it is a New York quality steak house at suburban prices. I will go out of my way to return here someday.
Bad Experience. Had a bad experience at Lewnes recently. They served a prime rib with an excessive amount of fat hidden by a large dollop of horse radish. The server didn’t acknowledge the problem, didn’t apologize or adjust our bill. That’s a low class dodge you might expect at a greasy spoon, not a famous steakhouse. We won’t be returning. Ask for the horse radish on the side!
Excellent food. We had NY Sirloin, shrimp scampi plus two sides, oysters Rockefeller, 2 drinks, 2 wines, 2 coffee w samba and 1 key lime pie $200 before tip.
