Our table had a taco salad with shrimp, a chimichanga with carnitas, a chicken quesadilla and a shrimp quesadilla. The food was good, and the service was fast. I would definitely come here again.
Hoax?. Had to comment after reading Mary’s review. I’ve been to Sin Fronteras a half dozen times in the last year. I’ve yet to have a bad meal. The food is always fresh. The portions are generous. The owner is always working the room to make sure that everyone’s expectations are being met. If you’re looking for Mexican food in Annapolis, you should give this place a shot.
Hoax. I have no idea who wrote the reviews for this place because they are all wrong. Spent the day at the Annapolis waterfront. Restaurants were everywhere. I wanted to try Sin Fronteras because I read the 4.5 star reviews. Couldn’t wait to try the margarita’s and fish taco’s. We left the waterfront and drove to Sin Fronteras. The staff was very courteous and polite . The food was horrible! The margaritas were watery and only slightly chilled. The fish tacos had about 2 slices of fish in them. And no flavor. The carne asado was descent as well as the enchiladas but nothing special. Just was very disappointed. Definitely not 4.5 stars. I’d rate it a 2.5 or 3.
Has potential. I like the menu- it’s not your typical Mexican, they have a few South American and other Central American dishes. The owner is friendly and efficient. The atmosphere is pretty spartan. It’s loud and the tables and chairs are like a high school cafeteria. They need to soften it up a bit inside. They also need to add a drink menu. Otherwise, the service is pretty good, and the food was good enough to make me want to come back. I had the Peruvian Lomo Saltado, and my wife had a chirizo tortilla dish. Both were pretty tasty. The chips are fresh made, but the salsa they serve could use some spice. All in all, a good local alternative to the Chevys and other chains.
Treat yourself to Sin Fronteras Cafe. A lovely place off the beaten path. Prices are right and service is fabulous. The owner came and chatted with us, wanted us to know that all ingredients are fresh and that he strives to be authentic (he is originally from El Salvador), plus he is excited about his expansion plans. The cafe will feature an outdoor seating area and lots of easy parking in the back beginning March 2013. I had a mojito that was to die for. Homemade guacamole was out of this world, super fresh! We look forward to many more enjoyable meals and drinks at this wonderful place.
Wonderful dining experience. Lomo saltado was excellent and the owner was beyond friendly. Ceviche had just the right amount of cilantro and the drinks were very well made. I’d recommend it to anyone looking to expand their Mexican-Latin cuisine palate beyond Chipotle.
Best Mexican food I have had in Annapolis area. Authentic cheap friendly environment/great atmosphere. Hands down awesome place!
