First time. Ordered from Beijing for the first time after reading the positive reviews. I am also a New Yorker, and take my Chinese food seriously. Ordered a variety of things and, although the flavor and quality was good, it was so oily/greasy that it was hard to eat. I’m talking pools of oil that I felt compelled to try and blot with napkins, but gave up after the first 3 napkins were soaked. One dish we had was the mu shu pork and couldn’t even use the pancakes because they fell apart from the oil when filled. Soups (wonton and sweet & sour) were good, spring and pork egg rolls, also good. Afraid we won’t be back unless they can degrease their offerings some.
Da Best !!. Beijing is the best chinese food in Severna Park period !! I have been going here for the past 14 yrs and they are consistently good . The same friendly family has been there since I started coming here . Enormous lunch specials ( all served with fried or steamed rice AND won ton , egg drop or hot and sour soup ) all less than 6 bucks ! To me , the stand outs are Double Cooked Pork which is perfect every time ( No Kidding ! ) , a ton of succulent pork , sweet with hoi sin and crisp cabbage and carrots in a spicy sauce . Also they make truly classic Chicken Chow Mein . The kind I remember growing up in NYC ! Now that is saying something . I have had chow mein a hundred times in a hundred places and thiers is right up there with the best ! They also make great chicken noodle soup. 3 bucks gets you a quart packed with lo mein noodles , chicken and green onions in a rich chicken stock ( great in the winter ) ! I could go on and on but ……. go see ( and taste )for yourself ! Enjoy !!
We’ve been trying the various Chinese restaurants in the Gambrills/Millersville/Severna Park area, and we’ve finally found the best of the lot. Very fresh, authentic, tasty Cantonese, Szechuan, and Hunan dishes. Give it a try; you won’t be sorry.
