This is authentic Mexican food. Fresh and they make their own corn tortillas. They are also vegetarian friendly. I am not vegetarian but I love their veggie, mushroom, and flor de calabaza traditional quesadillas. They are made with giant delicious tortillas that they make themselves. Truly authentic but they also have the flour tortillas. This is a very simple dish (quesadillas) but the freshness and homemade corn tortillas just make all the difference. The tacos are very good too. Again, fresh corn tortillas for those too. I also really enjoyed the Mexican style shrimp cocktail. Breakfast is also delicious and cheap. I love the huevos rancheros and the chilaquiles. They also have posole and menudo but i have not tried those. Every time I eat here I feel transported back to Mexico. I love it.
Some of the best Mexican food I’ve ever had, I got a vegetarian burrito, $3.50 and PACKED with grilled veggies. It was amazing. When we went, we were the only people there, but it was snowing so maybe that’s why. The servers don’t speak much English but there were no problems with our orders.
What A Gem. This place has brilliant, authentic tacos. $2.50 per is hard to beat. There’s seasoning and flavor to the pollo, the chorizo is sweet and tangy, the barbecoa barregos (lamb) was slightly dry but held the red salsa well, the carnitas (pork) was delicious, salty, roast pork and the lengua was the best tongue I’ve ever had at a taco shop. It was grilled as a final step and had a great crust with a chewy interior. Each taco comes on one slightly thicker than a street taco tortilla with a heaping of your filling and a small pinch of diced onion and cilantro. Red and green salsas in dishes on the side each with their own heat and feel. Red was smoky and perfect for the lengua and lamb. Green was bright and hot and made the carnitas even better. Also tried an enchilada tostada, which at this spot is a sweet barbecued pork on a smear of refried beans sitting on a crisp corn tortilla. Topped with shredded lettuce, crema, and a dry parmesan-style cheese.Guacamole is think, fresh, and made when you sit down. Salsa with the chips is not a tomato base, and was heavy on the roast tomatillo and onions. The restaurant is large and clean, the staff was smiling and happy to answer questions, and my lunch pal and I were very clearly the only folks in the joint not from Mexico.
