Mikie’s = Great Value !. My husband and I LOVE Mikie’s. Food is of very good quality and prices are extremely reasonable. They have the best Rueben and spaghetti in town! Each day brings a new list of daily specials, however, the regular menu is also reasonably priced. We used to go to a different restaurant every week, but we can not beat the values at Mikie’s. The waitresses are friendly……the food is good in terms of quality and affordability……and they have a great menu of choices. What else can we expect? I do, however, wish they would open another Mikie’s in the Mountain Road, Pasadena area. We would probably eat there more often!
I likee Mikie’s. I like Mikie’s Diner because it’s a throwback to the days when original, stand-alone restaurants were the norm. I’m old enough (sad to admit it) to remember when Glen Burnie was a dumpy little burg in the middle of nowhere. Now it’s a sprawl of plasticized chain restaurants along the ever-growing highway spaghetti between Annapolis and Crabtown. I have found Mikie’s to be a refreshingly different place to eat when getting off flights at BWI or killing time before I had to return a rental car there on my way back to somewhere else. It’s not fancy food — this is a diner, not a Michelin-starred gourmand’s paradise. Mikie’s has a varied menu, which strikes me as nicely ambitious for a tiny joint, and it focuses on Maryland and Southern dishes. I give credit to a place that has the feel of where it is, instead of dishing out dishes cooked up by focus groups at some far-away corporate HQ. Plus the place has a cute look. Why people go to cookie-cutter chains like Applebee’s instead of REAL joints like Mikie’s is beyond me, but many folks find more comfort in conformity than originality.
Food wasnt good.
