Good brisket . Ribs are good but I prefer them not cooked to fall off the bone tender(most people prefer this I realize) but as a certified bbq judge they are overlooked . Beans , slaw and cornbread homemade and were good.Decor and interior good . Service and staff good . Been to a lot of the top bbq spots all over the USA and on scale of 0-10 give it an 8. Would stop in again if in the area not only for the food but for the Patriotic support.
Good, not great.. It seems a little institutional and mass produced, but the brisket was decent. The sauces are not very inviting, but that may be personal taste. My wife wasnt impressed with the ribs. They were a little tougher than we prefer. I also thought the NC barbecue was way too saucy to be called authentic. I grew up on the stuff, and this was more like western NC style, or (shudder) like something even further west. The sides I have had were all OK, nothing special. I am glad they have links on the menu. Not sure why other BBQ places around here don’t serve them. Mission does do a great job with the sausage. It’s one of my favorites. There are way worse places for barbecue. I go to Mission on occasion, but if I was midway between Mission and Andy Nelson’s, there’s no contest – I would drive up to Hunt Valley.
Try Famous Daves instead.. Food was ok. Spare ribs were pretty good. I did like the brisket at all. Not nearly as good as Famous Daves. I like the Wounded Warriors concept but I would give the overall food grade of C or C-. Famous Daves is much better. At least it is better than the slop at Adams Rib.
Not bad…. I have been there a few times- the staff is friendly and the place is clean. The brisket, ribs and sides are very good.I went there with my son and at 12 noon we were invited to stand and join in our national anthem.AKWARD- we stood.I get a creepy feeling when people wrap themselves in the flag.My families been here for over 200 years, served in major conflicts etc. Were as patrotic as the next man….but for me it was overboard.
Great food and service!. I’ve been to this place twice and still think it’s the best pulled pork sandwich I’ve ever had. The service is great too they have a very friendly and helpful staff.
Like Grandma Made. I have been to Mission BBQ in Glen Burnie at least 10 times and every visit has been GREAT! My only issue is that some of the items are rather spicy and I am NOT a spicy food person. It would be nice if they warned that some items were on the spicy side. To most people they probably seem very mild but to me its very hot. Their beef brisket and mac and cheese are amazing, just like Grandma use to make! Some of the sauces are a bit strange to me as I think they’re more for the southerners palate. In all my visits I’ve never had a dry piece of meat- EVER, so I don’t know what happened with some of the people who left reviews. Their cornbread and corn on the cob are also fantastic! If you like home made BBQ then you should try Mission BBQ.
Not very impressed. I have been 4 times and tried some different items each time. The cashier was friendly, especially the first time when I hit them with a lot of questions. The food was not worth the price. There are other restaurants in GB that do not specialize in BBQ that have tastier choices. I would not recommend them.
