Not too shabby. First time eating here, very nice inside, not too loud. Our food was very very slow in coming, but quite delicious. We did not have the sushi but both ordered from the hibachi grill; I had the ribeye and my husband had the scallops. Both were very very good! Presentation was lovely. Very good food, a little bit pricey. Although we didn’t have sushi, it actually looked very good and fresh. Will return! Good service also.
Lovely Place; Best Sushi. The strip-mall energy and exterior is extinguished the moment you enter Otami. The interior is breathtaking but understated and there is no shrimp-tossing, Hibachi show that, frankly, has turned many a Japanese restaurant into a cliche’ of volcanic onions and eyebrow-searing flames. Otami is for grownups. The menu is sophisticated, and the Sushi is first rate. Service is phenomenal. I have eaten here since the place opened. The chef worked in the White House kitchen. I mean, how much more street cred do you need?
Mediocre. Reading all the reviews on the Otani we were anxious to try it. Please note, we did not eat any Sushi so the review does not reflect it. However, Otani does have a fairly extensive non sushi menu that we tried. To say the least it was very disappointing. For starters we discovered that the ice tea was from the soda gun vice fresh brewed. We switched to green Ice tea which was served at $3.00 per standard water glass with no refills. I had the seafood Soba noodle soup which had a tasteless broth and permeated with artificial crab! Others had the teriyaki beef in several forms that were very disappointing. Bill for four was $108 with no alcohol.
Love it! My husband and I are very picky sushi eaters and we are crazy about this place! Their food is fresh, quality, and always a beautiful presentation. You couldn’t ask for nicer more attentive wait staff and owners. It is located in a tiny shopping center but don’t judge a book by its cover. Its very pretty and classy inside. Best sushi we’ve had in the baltimore dc area!
Wonderful sushi, great atmosphere. Strange to find such a gem in a strip mall. Don’t pass it up.
It was ok. i had sushi, several rolls. not the best but not the worst.
Everything was perfect! the atmosphere, the music, the miso, the dishes, the symettry, the service, the restroom, the sushi…it truly was flawless!
