Ordered the shrimp scampi…the salad before the entree was gritty, so it must not have been washed properly… The shrimp scampi was absolutely disgusting! The service was horrible, when I informed the manager about the salad she told me I couldn’t be telling the truth because she( the mgr) had washed it herself! Are you kidding me… Really? Apparently, they don’t care about running customers away! They definitely don’t have to worry about me or my husband returning…

I came here at the recommendation of the hotel that I was staying at. After entering, I felt as though it was a funeral home, I decided to look on urbanapoon and see what others had to say. I could not agree more with tr negative comments posted here. Service was ok. Food was overpriced. Food quantity was adequate. Food quality NOT GOOD. The salad as others have stated – wilty and old. The cream of crab soup – WAY to thick and only lukewarm. Flavor was ok not great. Stewed tomatoes (as previously stated) – WAY to sweet. Garlic mashed potatoes – not flavorful and only lukewarm. Filet and shrimp were good and by far the best part of meal. The dinner rolls were served halfway thru dinner (that was also an issue from previous poster). 40 bucks and all I had was water. Clientele was all elderly – I think they go because of the history at the place but for a future they really need to improve. The outlook is dim though cause I am repeating the same issues others have had and posted over two years ago. Save yourself disappointment and go somewhere else. You’ll also save money!!

Food & Service truly awful and extremely overpriced. When my husband and I were seated the waitress introduced herself, took our drink order, then a table with more people arrived and she jumped ship. A different waitress brought our drink order (and got it wrong) but did not introduce herself or indicate that she was now going to be taking our order.Butter and what appeared to be Cheeze Whiz was placed on the table but there was no bread. Our new waitress said bread would be brought out once it came out of the oven but curiously the larger table next to us (the one our first waitress ditched us for) received bread and we did not. The bread was delivered with our meal but did not appear to be fresh-baked, it wasn’t even warm. The salad that came with my meal was mostly stalk and some of the stalks were showing the first signs of browning. I ordered a Crab Cake. Half-way through eating the crab cake I found a bone (not sure why a fish bone would be in a crab cake). I assumed it was an anomaly and continued eating. A few bites later I found another bone and gave up. Our bill for two dinners and two sodas came to $50. We both felt it was very overpriced for the food quality and poor service.

Awful. Overpriced. The softshell crab was horrible. Soggy and fishy crab placed on plain bread wedges. The crab could not have been at all fresh. The baked potatoes were very old and the food was not very hot. $23 for the worst dinner I have ever had.

Some of the favorites: cream of crab soup, fried orange roughy, and of course…the crabcakes! Yum!

My boyfriend and I went to Snyder’s this past Friday evening since we were in the area. His mother had recommended the place multiple times. The atmosphere is awful. It is like being stuck in the 70’s. The cream of crab was the consistency of old porridge and it was bland. I ordered the 2 crab cake dinner. I had it with stewed tomatoes and applesauce. The stewed tomatoes tasted like they were dumped from a can, heated, and sweetened with tons of sugar. The applesauce was blah. The crab cakes were the worst I have ever had. The cakes lacked seasoning and the crab itself left soapy aftertaste. My beau got the imperial crab stuffed shrimp. He opted for the mashed potatoes and applesauce. He expressed that his potatoes had not been seasoned at all. The crab imperial looked disgusting and tasted even worse. The only worthwhile was our waitress. She was very kind and understanding to our woes. I am not sure if we went on a very off night for them, but needless to say, we won’t be back. The only good part about our evening was that right down the street was G&M Restaurant that turned out to have awesome crabcakes and carryout.

Nostaligacally good!. I had my first occasion to visit Snyder’s in Nov. 2010. As others have noted, this place has a very 1970’s, white table cloth, supper club kind of place with a matronly hostess, white china and it was all nicely decorated for the holidays. In addition to the spacious dining rooms, there were two large parties going on in the adjacent banquet rooms.I took the suggestions of other reviewers and started with the cream of crab soup, which was delicious, although I would have preferred it to be a bit hotter when served. I then had the crab imperial for the main dish. It was a nice sized tureen filled with lump crab meat and covered with a delicious, creamy sauce. I had never had this dish before and it was quite good. The green beans were standard, but still had some snap and were tasty. The stewed tomatoes were sweet, with a nice texture and good flavor. The coffee was hot and strong after dinner. My server, Julieann took very good care of me. I would give it 4/5 stars, a very nice experience.
