We have always enjoyed Olive Tree in Glen Burnie but last night 11/8/15 we went with a group of 16 and the service as well as food was excellent. Mary and Trish were the servers and we never had to ask for a thing they both never let our drinks empty or the salad to run out. The one thing we asked for prior to arriving was that we needed separate checks by couple Sippy Corrona told me he would take care of this even though they really don’t do this. He was wonderful and everyone from our party was delighted and we plan on going back soon. My husband and I frequent Olive Tree so we were glad our friends also enjoyed this place. Our group goes out every Sunday and there are times when some of the group are very unhappy with where we go but OLIVE TREE will be on a return trip. Kudos to Mary, Trish and especially Sippy. We would ask for them again. The food is the BEST!! Not one complaint about the food only that you get soo much and you need to get a take home box.
This is absolutely one of my favorite restaurants!! I have to say I don’t love the change- they are gearing more towards a bar/bar food atmosphere however the quality of their food has not changed and you can still ask for your favorite dish if you don’t see it on the menu any longer. Both their crab dip and their Chicken Oscar (my favorite!) are loaded with lump crabmeat! They do not skimp on the crab or the flavor! All of their food is delicious. I don’t love that their Tiramisu is frozen but I’m usually too full for dessert anyway. I like that it’s upscale dining (the food) in a casual atmosphere. You can completely wear jeans and not feel out of place. My hope for The Olive Tree is that they will not let the bar influence take over the restaurant portion. It is truly an amazing Italian restaurant and there are not many like it in the sense of genuinely delicious food with a non-chain type feel and not stuffy. The bar kind of takes away from that feeling of a calm, relaxing time but as long as there is still a restaurant portion where you can get lost in the experience then it will always be a favorite! Though many people like a bar atmosphere I feel like it cheapens the quality of the restaurant a bit. With that being said, their food is amazing and definitely a gem worth discovering!
