Excellent food and service!. (Disclaimer: I have cross posted this review to two other sites)I had dinner at The Prime Rib by myself on a Tuesday evening, and observed that the restaurant was about a third full, with about two thirds of that being groups of four.Arriving early, I went to the bar and had two drinks, and the bartender gave a decent pour each time. After the drinks, I went to the hostess, checked in, and she then brought me to the table. I asked her what was the best thing on the menu, and she replied that it was the rib-eye. The hostess knew enough about that particular cut so that she was able to describe the marbling and texture. As time goes on, my quest for the perfect restaurant is never-ending. However, the bar for service and quality is always being raised because I continually seek out high end and foodie restaurants. My assigned waiter was Samir, who took the effort to call me by my name for my entire meal. Even with my high standards, Samir exceeded my expectations. He was able to describe the menu and each cut of meat. After placing an order of the rib-eye, sauted spinach, and potatoes au gratin, my only request was that my glass of iced tea remain full. Samir seemed to have ESP in that he was always ready with a full glass when mine became low. While waiting for the meal, the Manager (unknown) and the General Manager, Devon, stopped by. I know that this is Restaurant 101 and usually dont think anything about it, but Devon took the time to ask what I ordered and asked if I had ever tried the potato skins. I replied no, imagining potato skins from a corporate mid-level chain restaurant. Devon told me that I must try them and that she would send an order over. Well, these were not normal potato skins. I found out later that the potato skins were hollowed out and then fried in duck fat. Served with two sauces on the side, they totally redefined my expectation of what potato skins should be, and were the best I have had.The rib-eye arrived and was perfectly done. Usually I like my steaks medium well, and went with the medium as per the hostess. She was right, and it was quite tasty. The two sides were large enough to be shared with one or two other people, and I could not finish them.In conclusion, the service was better than most high end restaurants, and the quality and portion size was equally great. Living in Texas, I wish that they were located closer to my home, although I now have a steak place to go to while in Maryland.
Horrible Experiance. Im not one for reviews, when I do post one it is usually for good service however Im posting this negative review for The Prime Rib. 6 friends and I went to celebrate a birthday. We showed up a little early, roughly 15 minutes before. The hostess said that we could take a seat at the bar and the table would be available soon. While we were at the bar the Hostess never came and got us and we had to remind her twice that we were waiting after we have seeing 3 parties leave. We got seated nearly 45 minutes after our reservation time had passed.Once we were seated things seemed to be ok, It took a while to get things going. They were fast with the wine, since my wife and I are not drinkers we had to wait a while to get our drinks. Which we had to ask for. They never asked us. Lets just say service was lacking throughout the whole evening. Other people asked for water and never received it, two people asked for tartar sauce and never got it either. The food: While some people said it was good there was a definite agreement that some of it could have been much better. The fries that are billed to be some of the best are no more than fries that you could get at a grocery store. They were cold. My Ribeye was cold and had no taste. The food was overpriced to say the least. At the end of the night we were ready to leave and told the waitress we needed to split the check. We marked what was ours and off she went. When she returned everyone started signing and I looked at my bill to find that I was overcharged $30. Not a big deal, I figure she can take care of it real quick and we can get out of here. When we were able to get someone to see us 20 minutes after the bills arrived they went back corrected the mistake and we were on our way. Standing outside we all were discussing what a poor experience we had and said our goodbyes for the night. Story doesnt end there. Two days later I check my bank account. I had a charge of $555.66 and another charge for $411. My wife and I total meal was $114. After being more than a little angry and trying to get in contact with the restaurant I decided to wait and see if they caught their mistake. Finally the $411 charge dropped off. Leaving my friends and I to split the tab after the fact because guess what neither of them were charged their portion of the meal.I highly suggest that people rethink going to The Prime Rib at Maryland Live Casino. There are many other places to go with much better service and competency.

Prime Lie. If you’re looking for a meal as good or better than what you’d eat at The Prime Rib on K Street, in Baltimore or Philly, don’t go to The Prime Rib at Maryland Live! The Clams Casino were over-seasoned. Two orders of creamed spinach arrived as steamed spinach. And, when I told the waiter they weren’t creamed spinach, he said they were. My prime rib serving was overcooked and sent back. Never in twenty-five years of eating at The Prime Rib have I or a member of my party ever complained or sent back anything. But, the final insult was when we tried to pay part of our bill with a $100 Prime Rib gift card. The waiter told us that we couldn’t use it because the Prime Rib at Maryland Live! wasn’t affiliated with the Prime Ribs in Washington, Baltimore or Philadelphia. We could have told him that from our dining experience. Owners of The Prime Rib: Was it really worth it to ruin the reputation you’ve spent years creating to make a few quick bucks at the casino?
