This place is indeed a hole in the wall but the food is great. My picky eater (4-year old) seldom let’s us pass it without grabbing some take out. Unfortunately, the place is unexcusably ragged and obviously unclean. They’ve been making efforts to make it look more professional and clean up the mess but there’s still a long way to go.
TERRIBLE!!!. After calling in an order to try and save time, when I arrived at the restaurant the order was not completed and at my time of arrival they just started to prepare the food. To top it off I ordered my food (fried whiting, shrimp, french fries and mac and cheese) around 12 noon and the food tasted as though it was fried in stale oil. It was extrememly salty, over fried and the portion for the sides was really small. It tasted as though it was left overs. I think i will head down the road to Dunkin Donuts if I am ever in the area and hungry again.
Great Caribbean Jerk Chicken. I have gone to Troy’s Caribbean and Soul Food two times now. I really like the jerk chicken, beans and rice and do not forget the plantains and greens.
