Pleasant Sunday Brunch. Three of us went to celebrate a birthday. The place is beautiful — a rural setting near the reservoir. We were seated in a room with lots of windows, sunshine pouring in. Not crowded. Excellent and helpful service. A large, varied brunch menu. I had a bacon cheeseburger with hash browns. Burger was cooked exactly as ordered, served on a toasted bun. They offered an interesting variety of cocktails, priced as expected. I ordered one called something like City Fair Lemon something, something, containing vodka, but it literally had no flavor — at all — and didn’t come with the peppermint stick in the lemon as described. But another person in our party drank bloody marys, which she said were terrific. She also had the Chesapeake Omelette, which contained a lot of crabmeat, and which she said was excellent. I would definitely recommend this place for its very pleasant atmosphere, good service, and good food.
Fair just OK. As hard as they keep trying they just don’t seem to be able to achieve the restaurant of the past. Sad, really, I would go there 2 to 3 nights a week if the quality was the same as its heritage.
Worst experience ever. Christmas eve nightmare, never go to this place. All around awful. Our server Jen was the only good part of our experience. All meals came out cold. Ordered at 815, got food at 1030. Several tables were walking the restaurant looking for a manager which never came out. We asked for her and were also told she was too busy. But we heard her in the kitchen belittling her staff. True coward. Kelly is not a manager and should not ever be allowed to speak to her employees as we heard her do. thanks to the table next to the kitchen doors!! Save your money. Way over priced, owner must never be around, and food is terrible.
Terrible food for New Year’s Eve. Went to Peerce’s for third consecutive New Year’s Eve dinner. Prior two were great. This year was another story…Started meal with cold greasy no flavor calamari. Sent back. Then two of us had lukewarm French onion soup. Two of us had good crab soup. Beet and house salads were good. Main meals were another story. Two had prime rib and was total fat. I had lobster that was cold and gummy. The crab cake diner had a good meal. When we told waitress Megan about the prime rib she went to get manager. No one showed after 30 minutes. Then asked for owner. Did not show either. She said they were all busy at other tables. Not true. We walked around and we were the last diners except for one other table. We will never go back. We will not book any other events like did in past such as rehearsal dinners. If they didn’t care we don’t either.
9/24/11. We visited Peerce’s last night, the food was excellant but we were disappointed in the service. The noise level was very loud that we could not hear each other talk. The parking lot was not lighted enough if parked in the back lot.
Closed !!. Sold in 2006 an dnow a catering operation.Too bad -very sad! Many fond memories of the place.
