Hidden gem. Nestled on the corner of Monument and Washington, this little gem is sushi for those who have grown tired of sad, droopy California rolls made with dry rice and fish that should be collecting a pension. Walk in, and you’re greeted with slick, cool decor with adorable chibi ninjas and sushi on the walls. The food doesn’t disappoint – Sushi Ninja is no joke, and their rolls are bright, bold, unique, and always delightfully fresh. The rolls also offer many unconventional flavours and combinations, all of which work in perfect harmony, and the menu is always slowly but surely expanding – ask the chef about whichever new roll they’re experimenting with now, and don’t hesitate to give it a try. It will be worth it. These guys know what they’re doing, and although the price is a bit higher, you really do get what you pay for – this is sushi that you buy to truly enjoy, not just stuff yourself to the point of food coma. Bonus: they carry Ramune, the soft drink with a little marble inside that will take you back in time.
