This is a rare find on the Eastern Shore. I had the onion soup and bison rib eye, and my wife had the crab cakes. The warm chocolate cake with the passion fruit glaze was the best part of an excellent meal. Service was outstanding. This is a hiddengem.

What a surprise. I was staying at the Hyatt for a conference and thoroughly fed up with their sub-par cuisine so I went into the small town of Cambridge, MD and was completely blown away by this French Bistro. It has a really authentic feel, interesting menu and a quality of preparation that puts it among some of the best. The staff is youthful and leaning towards hipster, but not so much that this middle aged businessman felt out of place. The prices are reasonable and more represent the location than the quality of the food. This place is great!

What a surprise to find a restaurant of this caliber while on a business trip to Chesapeake! Worth the trip from the Hyatt to enjoy this little jewel. The eggplant appetizer was amazing, with goat cheese and roasted tomatoes that were to die for. The pork loin, duck breast, and seafood were top notch. But save room for dessert, because the pastries and crepe du jour are heaven sent! The service was impeccable, full bar, good wine selection, and prices were less than I would have paid for such quality.

WORST SERVICE EVER! do not go here! They have horrible service and are incredibly rude. We tried to call a few times in order to make a reservation and no one answered the phone. So we decided to go ahead and drive an hour to get there expecting since it was lunch time that we would be okay without a reservation. Once we arrived we were greeted by drunk customers clapping saying there was no more food left. Then one of the waitresses greeted us by saying they were ‘closing for lunch’ because it had been dead all day (besides the group of drunk people). The waitress was so rude and said we should have called and made a reservation. Well, we tried that and they were obviously too lazy to answer the phone. I will never return to this horrible place. It’s one of the top rated restaurants in MD but I would rather eat at McDonalds than be treated in such a wretched manor. NEVER GOING BACK!!!

Had dinner last night. Simply amazing. Service, atmosphere and food were all too notch. If you’re staying at the Hyatt, don’t let this one slip by.

3rd Visit – to this local find. Celebrated a birthday and were very pleased with roast porkloin with truffled (yep) mac-and-cheese, a tender boudin white sausage, a cilantro & sliced shrimp salad in a crepe and decadent desserts. Highly recommended for special occasions or a fancy date. See you next trip, Bistro Poplar!12 Sep, 2010Wow! This place is great. I had the Bison ribeye and the fried green tomato with crab hash. One of the best meals of my life. I may go back tomorrow for the Sunday tapas menu. I wish this place was closer to Baltimore.

Perfect Fit. Excellent decor and food meet. Simple and elegant are matched with a slight American bent on French cuisine. Friend and I dropped in on a recent motorcycle trip. Between us both: seared scallops with pea infused risotto and lamb with asparagus au’ gratin. Both were prepared to perfection and the staff that served were incredibly attentive. Although an ultimate date location, our more refined biker crowd will find it pleasing…despite the lack of crowd noise. Do drop in…
