Food serving is really huge, well atleast for me. Food is ok, some dish were bland eg mac and cheese. The bar gets really crowded on fridays and saturdays. Its a go to for a lot of locals and tourist. Fun place and great people.

Very Over-rated! There are much better seafood restaurants in the area!. I recently visited Jimmie & Sooks for a Sunday night dinner after a fun weekend on the Eastern Shore and after being referred by several folks in the local community. Sorry to report the experience was horrible and among the worst dining experiences I’ve had period: After a long wait for the waitress and a long wait for my seafood dinner, I find the portion very small for the high price and it came to my table luke warm. After the waitress basically ignored me, I called over the Asst Manager who did add to my veges, but actually had my seafood dinner reheated in a microwave so that the seafood was dry and poor taste. The waitress continued to ignore, and the manager refused to add anything to the meager seafood portion. After this very poor experience, I asked for the GM contact since he wasn’t present for the awful visit, and when I called the next day, he put me through interrogation and said he would get back to me when I insisted on a refund to my credit card. He calls back acknowledging the bad experience and refused to offer any credit for the terrible meal. When I told him I would be putting a negative review online, he dared me to do so and scuffed at the suggestion.I HIGHLY URGE VISITORS NOT TO PATRONIIZE THIS PLACE WHICH IS WAY OVER RATED! This place has absolutely no class!! Much better seafood restaurants in the area including Portside or HighPoint will offer you a much better dining experience worth your visit!

PS Andy was very accomodating27 May, 2013Out for dinner with family of 8. Reservations made. Wait staff very apologetic that the restaurant was out of signature lump crab for crab and goat cheese salad and crab cakes…and mahi-mahi special…and cream of crab soup…and we waited over an hour!!! It is Memorial Day weekend and the restaurant that we have appreciated in the past is underwhelmingly prepared for customers.

Worth The Stop. I Have Been At Jimmie And Sooks On Several Occasions To Conduct Business But I Never Had The Pleasure Of Dining Here. I Am Now Retired And When I Go SomeWhere I Can Stop When I Want. Jimmie And Sooks Was 1st On My List. On Friday Dec 28 I Stopped In With My Wife & Mother In Law. My Wife Had Shrimp Salad & FFs. Which Seemed To Have Won Over 2 Other Choices, Some Kind Of Pizza Of The Day With Goat Cheese Or A CrabCake. My Mother In Law Ordered Louises CrabCake But When She Went To The Head We UpGraded It To A Hoytee-Toytee CrabCake & ColeSlaw. I Ordered The Sook Chicken With Fat Fries & Gravy. We Had The Jimmie Bites For An Appitizer. My Wife Was Very Pleased With Her Choice. My Mother In Law Said Her CrabCake Was The BEST She Has Ever Had (She Is 86). Words Like That Dont Easily Fall From Her Mouth. Both Cleaned Their Plates And That Dont Happen Much At A Restaurant. When I Got My Sook Chicken, I Took The CrabCake Off The Top And Placed It Away For SafeKeeping And Consumption At The End Of This Amazing Meal. The Fries Were Better Than Thrashers, Most Folks Around Here Think Theyre The Best. The Portions Were Plentiful And Presentation Was DownRight Exceptional. The Waitress, Chelsea Was Absolutely Tremendous Her Attentiveness Was A 15 On A Scale Of 1-10. At The End As We Were Leaving She Informed Us Of Local Shoppes To Visit, As Well As Some Local History. I Recommend Jimmie And Sooks To AnyOne That Goes To A Restaurant, Especially If Your Within 50 Miles of Cambridge. ButchJones Pasadena, MD HON

My favorite place to eat!. I love this restaurant! From the time you walk in the door you are greeted by the friendliest staff I have ever experienced. I have eaten at many restaurants on the eastern shore over the years and this is definately my favorite place to go. The food is excellent and has great variety on the menu for being advertised as a seafood restaurant. Also the bar is very diverse, with a great selection of craft beers in addition to the typical ones that people commonly enjoy!

Nice place in downtown Cambridge. (06/24/2012) Nice little place in historic downtown part of Cambridge. New digs are shiny and modern with plenty of of TVs at the dark wood bar. Food was good, crabmeat was local, prices were reasonable. The Jumbo Lump Crab Cake was on the small side (about 4 oz.), but sweet and lumpy, well-seasoned but subtle. Both sides were sufficient: Mac ‘n’ Cheese was cheesy but not gooey, touch bland; potatoes in the potato salad were somewhat underdone and not tender, mayonnaise-based, slightly tart dressing was runny. The other dishes at the table looked good, and were well-received: Salmon BLT on rye toast, Jimmie Club (Louise’s crab cake [backfin], American cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato, mayo), Sook Chicken (grilled chicken breast topped with crab imperial). The oysters from the raw bar were aquaculture from the Choptank, lightly briny, seemed to have lost a lot of the liquor, so were kind of on the dry side for an oyster. On the bar side, the bartender was doing double-duty on the tables, kind of tough on him, but he was earnest. Seemed to be a popular local spot for families as well as the happy hour crowd.

J&S never should have moved. We have been to Jimmie and Sook’s new location a few times now, and they should have stayed in the old location. The service is very slow, and they seem overwhelmed by the amount of customers they have. The wait staff could take some lessons in how to return to the table once in a while to see if their customers are still alive. The food is overpriced and nothing special. Stay away from the famous crab dip unless you love mayo. A little bit of crab sprinkled over the top of a bowl full of mayo is not my idea of good food. We went back four tmes because they just couldn’t be as bad as they were the last time. They were.
