Go to J & Y Instead. I decided to try Osaka instead of going to J&Y for sushi because I wanted a little more than just sushi.The sushi at Osaka came out warm and had a meally texture. It definately was not as fresh as J&Y’s sushi.I have tried several hibachi places in the Columbia/Ellicott City/Eldersburg area and I have yet to find one that can actually produce flavorable food from the hibachi grill. The food was just bland and boring. I guess that there some kind of aversion to using spices in the hibachi cooking. It seems that they want everyone to dip the food in the sickly sauces that they give you. I personally like my food to have taste without having to drown them in sauces…The next time, I will just go to J&Y like I had planned to do in the first place.
No thank you. Compared to Tony’s just down the street, they were more expensive and the portions were smaller. The meat was over cooked and the veggies undercooked. Then the chef forgot to set shrimp aside for us to catch, that is my sons favorite part and he missed it. I will NEVER eat there again.
Osaka eldersburg. I recently dinned at the Osaka Hibachi Grill in Eldersburg with some friends. We got asked for two checks because we were two different parties eating at the resturant. Before we ate the two of us said how we had coupons for 20 dollars off and if we could use them, the waiter replied yes, and we ate our food, at the end when we wnt to pay our bill, he informed us only one of us could use our 20 dollar of coupon becuase we entered and sat down at the table as a group. I am dissapointed in the lack of communication between the costumer and the employee’s at Osaka, and I will no longer be dinning their. If you have a coupon for 20 dollars off, do not go with another couple, you will only be able to use one!
Food is always amazing. I have been to Osaka five or six times and the food is good every time. I went April 18th to celebrate my birthday. First they give you a hot bowl of soup and then a salad with this ginger based dressing (love it). I ordered shrimp, lobster, and filet mignon (they let me substitute shrimp for scallops) with noodles. I had lots of food left over and it tasted even better two days later. We drive about 30 minutes from Columbia to go to this place because it is better than every other Hibachi place nearby.
Loves it. Ive had amazing times there! the sushi is sooo yummy!!!! ppl who dont like it there need to suck it up! when u are sitting in parties or 6 or more even with sep checks remeber the servers dont want to get screwed so yes as a server myself (not at osakas tho) i service charge too! sorry buddy we make 3 bucks an hour so an 18% service charge get over it…ps you can throw a little extra on too!! it wont kill you!
Over charges. Decided to meet some friends for diner to celebrate birthdays. We had two separate groups totaling 6 people. The manager added 20% to both of our checks because we sat together. My friend also was unable to use her birthday coupon because it was only 1 coupon per 4 people. They did not budge. We ended up overpaying. The owner/manager was rude and said it was their policy. To top it off, one was diabetic and on the phone they said they can accommodate her, the ruined her meal and could not eat it. They didn’t take care of that either. There are many of other restaurants I can go to. They definitely don’t take care of their patrons.
