As a regular of Oscars, I figured I’d tell others about this dynamic restaurant. Finally eldersburg has something for the beer heads! My wife and I are regulars of the bar. This week though we decided to have a more personal dining experience in a dining room. The experience was disappointing. Our waitress took about 10 minutes to come to our table. Erica did not seem very knowledgable when I asked her about a few new beers added, also my order came with onions when I clearly asked her for none.

Bar Food Done Excellently. I initially walked in on a weeknight at 7:30 PM, the dining room and bar area both were packed. By a jury of one’s peers, this alone was a very good sign.If nothing else, it signaled a robust local economy. It probably signaled good service, and it might even have signaled good food. I was intrigued but in the end, did not sit down. Before I left, the beer selection on the chalkboard above the bar was the most impressive and extensive in the area, and caught my eye. These observations bode well. Tonight I returned and found my initial instincts well-served. Service was impeccable, prices were fair and the food left us sated without complaint. The dining room was decidedly less crowded and it was a Friday, but this could be attributable to the early hour. I had the Reuben which was well-proportioned and tasty; my wife had the crab cake which had abundant lump crab-meat with little filler. The fries seemed as though the potatoes had been dug up out of Oscar’s backyard just this morning. The beer list indeed was nothing short of fascinating. Yes, it’s bar food. But its bar food done excellently by ownership, management and staff clearly who care. I’ll be back.27 Jul, 2013A Place For Former O’s Pitcher Koji Uhehara (Too Hot!). This review should be considered provisional. This Phoenix of locations (that eats many restaurateurs whole and spits them out bankrupt) has a new tenant. When I recently walked in on a weeknight at 7:30 PM, the dining room and bar area both were packed. By a jury of one’s peers, this alone is a very good sign. If nothing else, it signals a robust local economy. It probably signals good service, and it might even signal good food. I was intrigued. The beer selection on the chalkboard above the bar was the most impressive and extensive in the area, and caught my eye. Now I could have squeezed in at the bar, but the air conditioning was struggling under the 90+ temperatures outside and all those patrons inside. It was uncomfortably humid to the point of stuffy. Intrigued but still thirsty, I again left. Instinctively, these observations bode well. I hope to return soon, perhaps in the Fall when the A/C might keep up or the owner’s hand on the controls might be less inclined to frugality.

Good first visit. Both my husband and I had the crab cakes, which I thought were quit tasty. The mashed potatoes were yummy. I liked the spinach because it was not overcooked – for some it might have too much garlic, but I liked it. We will be back.

Food and service. Must try the buffalo chicken sandwich. If you do you will be hooked for life. The service was fast and efficient which is very important because I have 2 small kids.I look forward to making this my new local spot….and I almost forgot to mention that they have a huge beer list

GREAT NEW DINING EXPERIENCE!. First time visit and we will certainly be back! The food was delicious and the service and overall dining experience was excellent. Although I had wine for dinner, the beer selection was extensive. I was happy to see a Gluten free beer offered too! Oscar’s Alehouse is a welcome addition to the Eldersburg area! Side note, LOVE the fact that Oscar is a bulldog!
