Uncle Charlie’s should be classifies as one of Chestertown’s Best Kept Secrets. I say this because if you are just driving by, you will try every other place in town before you are lucky enough to wander into this well-hidden but surprisingly modern foodie oasis. Once we discovered it, we have been back here again and again, delighted every time with personal service that rivals Blue Heron, a menu and specials that rival Brooks, and enthusiastic homemade ice cream that reminds me of Jeni’s Ice Cream back in Columbus.
Love Uncle C’s….. We had lunch at UC Bistro – hubby had the burger and he had one word for it …. WOW. I had the nachos. I love nachos – one of my favorite things to get but more often than not, I’m not happy with them. UC’s nachos were fabulous. And both our meals were extremely generous in size. I brought home 1/2 of my nachos. The service was very good – courteous wait-staff. And, as we had heard, Uncle C visited our table to make sure all was fine with it. We’ll make this a regular place to go. Dying to try the prime rib I’ve hard so much about.
Awesome!. The prime rib, crab cake sandwich, beer battered cod and chili rubbed sirloin were extremely yummy. the place does not look like much on the outside; but once ur in…the good was fresh and the waitress was really nice and helpful. I can’t wait to come back again.
