Very Good Lunch. We visited Crisfield hoping to find a quaint and interesting fishing village on Chesapeake Bay. What we found was a rather old, industrial looking and rundown town. It was a little sad, because we’d been eating these wonderful lump crabcakes in the Ocean City area for a few days – it is a little sad to know the crab come from hard working fishermen who don’t seem to be prospering from their efforts. We stopped in for lunch at the Watermen’s – an ordinary enough looking place – and hoped for the best. What we found was a lunch menu that seemed inspired with the fare offered. We ordered a crabcake sandwich and bowl of creamed crab soup. The food was the best – the crabcake the best we have eaten in Maryland, and the soup simply wonderful. The waitress was experienced and happy and the food delivered promptly after being ordered. They had several desserts on display which looked great – unfortunately we were too full to participate. We really like this restaurant and heartily recommend it.
