  We ate there today, and a few observations. First, the place looked beautiful, so they score points for that. However their menu is very outdated – if you order something the waitress tells you they don’t have it any more (advice to the owner – time to update the menu, as people are going to inevitably ask for things!). I ordered the fried chicken, which itself was not bad taste-wise, but the fries that came with it were nuked and still cold – my elderly mother was with us, and she had the same problem with the fries that came with her burger. The waitress also seemed to ignore us, and that was a little disconcerting (she forfeited her tip for that too!). In summary, the food was good in some aspects, could use work on others, and the menu REALLY needs to be updated, but at least it had a good ambiance.

  A Classic. We have been going to the Chat & Chew for years. It is such a landmark in the area and residents remember, from years ago, when they had carhops who would bring your food out to your car. The Super Burger and french fries with gravy are a menu staple and both are so good. It is my go-to order and they taste the same as they always have. The Super Burgers are excellent and the french fries with gravy are such a great combination. The fries are hot, crispy, and salty with a rich, brown gravy. It is so good my mouth is watering while writing this review, and every time we travel to the area we make sure to stop in for our nostalgic meal.
