(3/14/2016) Went to a work meeting at Oregon Ridge, lunch was catered by Salerno’s. I think it was one of the modified BBQ menus. On the buffet was pulled pork, roast beef, grilled chicken, ruffled potato chips, potato salad, fruit salad. Buns and sliced white bread were rather stale and dry, I got the roast beef from the rare bin (set aside). Beef was chewy, I had to eat it all with a knife and fork rather than sandwich style. Fixings were tomato, lettuce, sliced, raw red onion, 2 BBQ sauces, horseradish and mayo. Potato salad was very sweet, otherwise bland. Set up was not exactly hygiene friendly (serving utensils fallen into chafing dishes, no scoops for ice). Overall mediocre. Plenty of staff on hand though.
All you can eat crabs. By far the worst crabs in Carroll County . On 2 occasions I order all you can eat crabs and on both times I sent them back and demanded my money back. All of the meat in each crab was mush and they were re steamed. I would not recommend Salerno’s crabs to my worst enemy !!!
Love the crabs!!!!. I moved to Eldersburg in June and have been to Salerno’s at least 5 times for crabs and have never been disappointed!! We paid by the dozen and they are worth the money-even in November!!!Service-depends on who you get, but mostly good experiences.Bar-have been there to watch games and the locals are great and friendly. However, they do not have bar special-ever 🙁
Frist & Last Time, Seriously. Service was excellent but the food was not good at all. Food is way over priced for the low quality. My husband ordered the cream of crab soup and it was watery and not creamy. He ordered the broiled seafood plater with crab cake, which was small and okay, 3 large shrimp that were steamed and not broiled with no seasoning or flavor, scallops with no flavor and not broiled, and a tuna steak that was brown, dry, no flavor, looked frozen and not broiled. He got the apple fritter with ice cream that was the final insult; looked like it was frozen and reheated. I got the seafood pot-pie and the center was good but the shell was under cooked and very thin like half a Pillsbury biscuit. Mac-n-chees tasted like macaroni shells with that fake creamy cheese they put on nachos. Key lime pie was dry like it had been sitting for days; guess that is why it was on the special menu. Never again! This owner needs to wake up and stop being so defensive.
Terrible Crabs. Went for AUCE last night, not only were the crabs extremely (illegally) small they tasted terrible. I believe by reading other comments they were re-steamed. We asked for a different batch three times, all were the same. Worst crabs I have ever had. Asked to speak to the Manager, he was very arrogant and really didn’t care that we didn’t like the meal. I have never seen a Manager or Owner behave like that. Never ever again will we go to Salernos.
Food had always been mediocre and the service has always been terrible
Tried it again…bad choice. OK, It had been almost a year since we had eaten lunch here. They had a good all you can eat soup and salad (which you would think would be a nice quick lunch). We could never get out of there within an hour and a half (everyone ordered maybe 2 soups and a single salad). Service was terrible. We tried again this last week…again service was really, really bad. We watched 4 tables walk out before even getting seated (talk about lost revenue!). Food was so bad I couldn’t eat it and that was just a simple burger, had a real bad smell and something was funny about it. Being that we are glutton for punishment we had a good cash coupon for carryout. I had thought that their crabs used to be good there so we figured we would try a carry out order (at least we wouldn’t have to worry about service). Husband picked up the order and brought it home. The crabs were ice cold, had to call to get it straightened out, go pick up the hot crabs and now my stomach hurts! Well… that was it for me, no third chance….
