Horrible drink. On a Saturday nite, I was surprised to find Johnny’s Bistro closed at 8pm. There was only two tables but we were allowed to have a salad and drinks. Although, I didn’t have anything to eat, I ordered a Sangria. It was so overly sweet, I could not drink it. I told the waitress and she said it was the way Johnny mixes the drink. I have had the same drink there before where it has been ok but now it was way so sweet and at $8.00, it was not worth it. Johnny’s has gone down hill and not worth the trip.

A local favorite. My husband and I go here regularly. We are familiar with all of the Main Street eateries and Johnny’s is our favorite. Warm mushroom salad is great and Johnny should bottle the dressing and sell it. My husband usually orders the burger and says it is great. The soups are almost always delicious, and they give you a sample of the daily soup when you arrive. Johnny always takes the time to come out and talk to guests. I’ve been to an event catered by Johnny’s also and the food was very good as well. A great place to stop and grab a bite while on Main Street.

Perfect Lunch Salads. I went here on a lunch whim with a friend of mine not from the Ellicott City area. We both chose a salad and decided to split. I ordered the warm mushroom salad and was VERY surprised at the complexities in it! Crimini and portabello mushrooms sauteed in a delicious sauce that I can’t even begin to describe. It was served over a bed of field greens with fresh and firm tomato wedges, red onions, and gorgonzola cheese. They topped it with a light next of thinly sliced fried onions. No dressing needed, the salad stood alone as a hearty and healthy vegetarian lunch! My friend enjoyed the salmon salad which came with a basil dressing that we opted to put on the side. The way the salmon was cooked, we didn’t even need the dressing! Although, the dressing was perfect for the salady part of the salad.Well cooked seafood and mushrooms, served hot on cold greens, with varying flavors and textures. The water was always being refilled and our waitress was very courteous. I will definitely be going back. You should all try the salads!
