Average food, great beer, horrible service. When we arrived at about 5:30, we had to wait for one of four empty, but dirty tables to be bussed. We wandered around for about five minutes with no one asking if we needed something. The bar was empty also, so they weren’t busy. The wait person did not know the beers. Food was your average pub food. Wings were good and spicy, everything came hot. However, she picked up the wrong entree for my husband and it took us a while to get her attention. I had to ask twice for silverware. The waitress pretty much ignored us, not even so much as looking in our direction when she was at tables close by. If she had glanced in our direction, she would have known we needed something on several occasions. There are plenty of other places I can go with good beer, similar food and GOOD service. Don’t think I’ll be back.
Decent food, nice atmosphere. A wide selection of beers, and even a beer club where you drink 99 varieties and get your name on a plaque on the wall. Nice atmosphere with cool stained glass windows hanging from the ceiling. Good appetizers, really like their old bay wings and crab dip. Nice Buffalo Chicken wrap. Only bad menu item I’ve had here was the fish n chips. Overcooked, dry, very fishy, unpleasant taste. Have been satisfied with all other menu items I’ve tried.
Great Beer and Surprisingly Good Food. There are a couple things that I want to point out about PHX. First, they have a really cool and funky atmosphere. There is something about the lead windows hanging from everywhere that makes this place really inviting. Next, On the beverage side they have everything… At least everything in a bottle. A huge selection of bottled beer and lots of rotating brews. And they accept http://www.BeerGivr.com, which is great because I can get my beers as my friends pay up on all the good things that I have done for them, even without them being there. Finally, on the food side, I think PHX is a hidden gem. They have really good pub food. Some inventive specials and a diverse menu. Also, if you are looking for a great soup, check out the Crab Bisque. It may be the most amazing version of this soup that I have ever tasted.
My husband and i had dinner there. It wasnt packed. Good vibe. We had an amazing crab dip with warm bread. So tasty! For entrees we had cheeseburger with bacon and fish n chips. My son had a grilled cheese sandwich. Service was great, food was awesome, and atmosphere was perfect. Small place but good food. No expensive either. They have a huge variety of beers, but we skipped them. Parking was great, parked in visitors center.
THE CRABS. They put the crabs in crab dip and crab cake sandwiches. Their crab dip is to die for. Served piping hot with plenty of warm bakery french bread. If it was good for me, I’d eat it all the time. They also have awesome crab cake sandwiches and the best burgers in the area. Comfortable pub atmosphere and friendly staff too.
Really good burgers. Consistently good, casual pub food. Lots of different beers if that’s your thing, but stay for the burgers.
