Our annual treat. Every year my brother-in-law gives my wife and me a gift certificate to Tersiguel’s, and this year we saved it for our anniversary. The food wasn’t flawless, but it was excellent, and a bonus was that Fernand Tersiguel (the semi-retired founder; his son is now the chef) stopped at every table to chat. He told us the history of the building, which was interesting.Anyway, my scallops (on a corn coulis) were sweet and succulent, and her vel was tender and flavorful without being too heavy. My salad, a special, of heirloom tomatoes, goat cheese and fennel, was very good, and could have been excellent with more tomatoes and less fennel. We shared a soft of deconstructed Napoleon filled with lemon curd and strawberries, which was quite good, albeit slightly messy.Service was excellent. We don’t drink, and sometimes fine dining places turn less friendly when we order soda and ice tea as a before dinner drink. But in this case service stayed friendly and attentive throughout. With the demise of Polo Grill, Tersiguel’s and Linwood’s remain our favorite special occasion places. (Never had a good experience at Tio Pepe.)

Howard County’s Best. Hands down, this is the best restaurant in Howard County. Try the chef’s tasting menu. A great value and a great culinary experience – but bring an apetite. If you want to order from the menu, the Coquille St. Jacques is always good and no one does rockfish better than Tersiguel’s. It is typical part of their daily specials. We were there the other night and had these two dishes with a bottle of Pinot Noir. It was a meal to remember.
