Steak and Eggs with Side of Potatoes and Fruit. Perfect for brunch!07 Mar, 2015My husband and I really like the Mariachi Restaurant. We’ve been there 3 times now, and each time the staff has been nothing but pleasant and attentive. We’ve had their fajitas, which were very good, but our favorite thing so far is the steak and eggs. We ordered the steak and eggs for brunch and the steak is always nice and tender, the over easy eggs are cooked to perfection (runny yolk, but not raw egg white), and the dish comes with a side of potatoes and fruit. The only thing that could you some improvement would be the salsa they serve along with the chips. It is a bit watery and it has way too much onion. It is, however still tasty. We will definitely be going back!
Not fancy- consistently good though. Like the fajitas & tres tacos.
HUGE Disappointmenet. They try to appear upscale but the service & food fall way short. Margarita weird taste, food over priced, queso has no punch, salsa needs some pick up with cilantro, service less that attentive. Don’t bother …
Yuck. Expensive yuck.
The Good, The Bad and the Ugly. Had Sunday lunch at the Mariachi. My third visit here. It’s a nicely renovated building with some expensive looking finishes, but somehow it’s gone all wrong. It’s hard to get past the booster seats stacked in the front, the waste bins, children’s coloring pages plastered all over the entry and a strange display of business cards and chotsckies. While they have white tablecloths and have tried to make it more upscale, it’s pretty dark and just a huge open space. The waitress was extremely friendly and the owner came by our table to ask how everything was. They had a Sunday brunch menu with items that sounded good. My husband’s enchilada and burrito were fine, but not outstanding. My Fiesta Salad tasted good, but it’s served in a big pastry shell. The bottom was soaked through and watery. The chicken, beans and cheese were on the bottom with lettuce thrown over the top. I agree that their salsa is watery, but the flavor was decent and the chips seemed fresh. While this definitely isn’t my favorite Mexican restaurant in Frederick, it’s not a bad place and you never have to wait. They are trying.
Mariachi Frederick YUCK. I should have known better when I found the parking lot empty on a Sunday evening. The plus…we were seated promptly. The minuses…the salsa wasn’t good, the quesadias weren’t good, the carne asada was as thin as a piece of bologna. The margaritas were weak and the beer flat. If you want Mexican, this is NOT the place.
Serving Old El Paso Style Foods…. …from the can and from the box. We’ve given this place two tries. I don’t know for a fact that the food is processed fare, but I’d be willing to bet on it. Bland con queso that has all the appearance of melted Velveeta cheese and not a pepper in sight., watery salsa and main dishes that taste almost, but not quite completely unlike real Mexican food are all you’ll find.Capped with servers that cannot be bothered to come by the table again until the check is dropped off, Mariachi is one we will not visit again.
