I had dinner here last night.Located in the downtown area of this community, my only complaint is that finding parking for the uninitiated was a challenge. The restaurant itself has a big open frontage to the Main Street, with entrance set back on a pedestrian walkway. The place has a typical pour house feel – open, lots of wood, big bar, lots of taps. Staff was friendly and professional and my entire meal was selected off their recommendations. And it was all excellent – crab dip, Jambalaya and carrot cake (yeah I know).Everything was quick from the kitchen and very good. The Jambalaya was one of the best I’ve had – spicy but not inedibly so, big shrimp tender rice. I could have eaten a second order.Price was reasonable – about $50 for app main course and dessert, including bar and tip.Lastly, as a brew pub, the beer selection was good and the quality of the beer was top notch. I really enjoyed this place and would recommend it to anyone passing through the area.
Great location in downtown Fredrick. The food is awesome and the bar is a great size with plenty of seating and TV’s to catch a game. Nice for family and singles alike.
This is a great place for lunch. Plenty of staff on hand and very fast service. Ordered the roast duck flatbread daily special, it was absolutely fabulous! Very flavorful and not at all greasy.
Food was solid, live music was nice. Decent atmosphere…. Until late night, then it was way too crowded to be fun. Beets have really improved compared to visit couple years back!
Beer and food here are always good and reasonably priced. I also like the way the waitstaff handle their customers – well trained and courteous.
Great but then … tragedy struck!. Ok, that title is a bit too dramatic, but I wanted to send a review after the top one listed here being a bad one. The appetizers were good (nachos OK; jalapeno pretzel very good) and my burger (the really spicy one) was good, but I can’t fully review this place because it was, unfortunately, the weekend of a Frederick festival and all of the power went out in the restaurant. There was no power in the kitchen or the restaurant and our meal tickets were in process, so we got food (but not always what we ordered, though they were very apologetic about it.) They offered free ice cream, but we were ready to take off. I would have liked to see more taken off the price, but I understand they can’t give every table in the restaurant a free meal on a busy Sunday. (They closed the doors while we were eating so no new patrons could come in until the power was restored.)One point if they’re reading this: there is an emergency light in the women’s bathroom, but not the men’s. My father in law was in there when the lights turned off completely and, stuck in the dark, he bumped his head enough to draw blood. Please put an emergency light in there!
Great all round pub. My wife and I eat at all the Resturant downtown and enjoy this place 2-3 times a week. We usually get one of the daily special.
