This place isn’t great but not horrible. The waitress was attentive and friendly. Started with queso dip. It is orange not white (just an FYI). The chips were thin and warm. The salsa was okay however too much cumin (shouldn’t have any in my opinion) and very little cilantro. The beans were quite soupy and also infused with cumin which was not pleasing. The enchiladas were fine. (A little watery?) The shredded beef was plentiful but once again there is a spice that just doesn’t belong. We were passing through town, I would not go out of my way to come here twice

Casa Rico is a north-east rendition of the tex-mex tradition. The restaurant’s atmosphere is a mix of hispanic/north east american culture. Overall pleasant, yet insufficiently convincing. The food I experienced was sufficient in flavor yet inadequately perfected in the sense of combining both aesthetics and taste. While overall satisfying, it is this reviewers opinion that Casa Rico is a 5/10; reasonable to say that this place offers avid tex-mex diners no reason to re-visit. I find it very important to say that I detect hints of heavy use of ground cumin and light use of curry in dishes. The staff feels genuine, friendly, and very aware of their customer’s presence. The service is fast. However, the speed of the service may raise more questions than praises. It is questionable.

Just tried this place- best chicken flauta I’ve had (and its my standard dish at most Mexican restaurants) and the sweet waitress suggested a sweet and sour sauce that was killer! Husband had blackened tilapia tacos- pretty good but could have used some sort of cream/sauce. Very good and filling 2 meals for a $25 tab after tip. Nice!

The best in frederick. There is better chance of having a well priced authentic mexican food/dining experience here than at any other mexican type restaurant in frederick.

The best sangria. Great enchiladas, especially the shredded beef. Friendly servers. Worth the trip!
