  Homestyle fried chicken – Yum. Had a recent opportunity, (Jan 2013) to have Doc Geiser’s fried chicken for a small gathering (about 12). I don’t know who did the ordering or the price, so this was an opportunity for a blind taste test, and a personal opinion. I have to say, the chicken breasts were large, juicy and finger licking good. The seasoning was ‘just right’. Same for the legs and even the wings. Surprised that the wings were as juicy as the thicker parts, so Doc Geiser and staff is doing something absolutely right. Normally, I do not touch the skin, but when I did try some, it was crunchy, not soggy, and was good. Overall, the fried chicken was in the A class range. The incidentals, beans, slightly spicy and sweet and they had mouth feel, not over cooked at all. The coleslaw, a bit too fine for my taste, but it went well with the group. So if you are planning a small party (or a large one), I would suggest that if the price is right, that you at least try Doc Geiser’s wares. Frankly, his fried chicken is a lot better than mine. I would not hesitate ordering a meal for a group at all.
