Went after a Flying Dog event & was greatly disappointed. Ordered Alligator & Fried Okra. The Alligator was tasteless & covered in a gross tomato sauce. The Okra had zero seasoning as well. Beer selection wasn’t that great either; not sure how it’s a Taphouse. Never saw someone drink Nat Light in their own coozie at a Taphouse.
Needs major help in the vegetarian and vegan area.
A nice addition. Great selection of beer on tap and solid food. That and one of the few places that doesn’t charge a cover on Saturdays makes this a must try especially for those looking for a good brew.
Nice addition to the Frederick dining scene. Went here in November 2012 and enjoyed their wide variety of draughts. Good selection! My husband ordered a shrimp dish, which was very good, but not as hot as he likes his food. Still tasty. I had the beef short rib pie- their slant on Shepherd’s Pie. It was phenomenal. They had extracted all the fat and the beef left was tender and flavorful. Honestly, I can’t wait until I get there again to savor that dish. I also am looking forward to trying some of their other food. Happy to have found it!
Awesome!!. This is by far one of my favorite restaurants in Frederick. Their menu items are priced well and their food is fantastic!! I have had their bbq pulled chicken, cold turkey sandwich, and their crab cakes. All of these dishes were amazing and i would highly recommend them. Especially the crab cakes, they had giant clumps of crab in them and just a little filler! I will be going there a lot!!
Not so good first impression. One of the waitress’s (black hair and tattoos) was just nasty and ill-mannered. I had accidentally made reservation online for a Jo-Jo’s Restaraunt obviously not this one. The Host was very nice and was able to accommodate our party. The waitress began bad mouthing me very loudly about the error, so much that other customers began staring. We sat down for our meal Crab Cake, 8oz Filet and Egg Plant Lasagna. Lasagna came out cold (for real). The garlic butter filet was missing the garlic butter and any semblance of spice, the crab cake had four lump pieces of crab, the rest was all breading. More of a crab flavored bread cake. It took more than 20 minutes to get drinks, 35 mins for refills…. Not going back.
Great food and fun bar. JoJo’s Restaurant and Tap House opened on August 30, 2012 and so far it’s been a hit! I’ve been twice now (opening night and the next night), sitting at the bar enjoying delicious food and drink. The happy hour menu includes $5 food items, to include tasty pork belly tacos topped with diced mango and guacamole, chicken wings, stuffed zucchini, andouille sausage kebabs, etc. There’s a variety of sandwiches (don’t miss the prime rib sandwich!), a couple of soups and salads, and a nice selection of entrees: stuffed chicken breast, crab cakes, braised short rib pie (I want to try this one soon), and other American style items.Being the first week, service was a little slow but the place, especially the bar area, was packed. Most importantly, the food was very good and prices were very reasonable. This is a place I will frequent.
